THE GOVERNMENT OF KAZ’ULRAH

 

 



SECTION I: THE CROWN 
The Kingdom of Kaz’Ulrah is an asbolute monarchy, with ascension to the crown being passed down through hereditary succession. The line of Kerwyr Frostbeard is currently chosen by YEMEKAR to reign over Kaz’Ulrah, and protect the peace of the people.

 

High King
The High King serves as the ruling monarch of Kaz’Ulrah and its surrounding vassals. He holds absolute authority in all areas of the governing of the Kingdom and is assured by a hereditary succession.

 

LINE OF KINGS

 

Verthaik I
The leader of the first Frost Rebellion, Verthaik is a legendary figure in Kaz’Ulrah history and known as the first King of his line. Verthaik was the first to stand up to Urguanite dominion, and martyred himself for his cause in battle. 

 

Kerwyr
Kerwyr was a long serving Clan Lord under Urguan and struggled under the sanctions imposed on him and his Clan following his uncle, Verthaik, and the failed rebellion. After making his clan the strongest single entity within Urguan, the long struggle between himself and the rulers of Urguan forced him to establish the independent Kaz’Ulrah.

 

Verthaik II
Son of Kerwyr, Verthaik has worked day and night to finish what his namesake started. He was known for leading successful campaigns against Urguan in a great civil conflict, and lead the Kingdom into the new age of Atlas to establish Kal'Tarak. He was slain by unknown assassins.

SECTION II: THE KING’S COUNCIL
The King is abetted with courtiers, of which he has appointed himself and vested with the necessary powers to aid him in government. A courtier will often be appointed from representatives of the Clan Council, and are at the disposal of the King to be appointed and removed at his discretion.

 

King’s Hand [Vacant]
The King’s Hand acts as the chief administrator of the privy and as regent in times of the King’s absence. In such times, the role of the King’s hand in foreign policy is as the principal negotiator in the King’s stead. 

 

High Ambassador [Vacant]

High Ambassador is in charge of maintaing the Kingdom's diplomatic relations with other nations.

 

High Merchant [Dwifar Goldhand (Unusualbrit)]
The Overseer is the master of industry, and ensures the the economy of Kaz’Ulrah is prosperous and free flowing. He is also tasked with the management of employing dwedmar to their respective jobs.

 

Marshal [Hamnil Frostbeard (Hot_dip)]
The Marshal is charged with enforcing law and order within the Kingdom of Kaz’Ulrah, as well as mobilizing the Kingdom’s forces in times of conflict. He should administer the training and organisation of a professional army in the Kingdom’s name.

 

High Prelate [Nerak Forstbeard]
The High Prelate is an elected zealot and religious figurehead from the college of prophets that represents the brathmordakin and church. He is also more often than not charged with trials and ensuring that religious customs are upheld.

 

Warden [Vacant]
The Warden is the leader of the administrative division that stewards the cities of Kaz’Ulrah. He records housing and taxation within regions where applicable, also ensuring that any planning permission applications are relayed to the King and that festivals are periodically held.

 

High Remembrance [Vacant]
The High Remembrance is in charge of ensuring that the history of the Dwedmar is maintained and kept up to date. He is also charged with maintaining the Kingdom library alongside his scribes and other scholars under him.

 

 

SECTION III: REPRESENTATIVES
The Clan Council is a lesser division of Kaz’Ulrah government, that serves as a representative body for the Royal & Noble Clans. The objective of this conglomerate is to advise the King, to discuss matter of importance, and to draft and suggest legislation within the Kingdom. A majority vote is required for legislation to progress to the King and his Council. Despite not holding any executive authority, the Clan Council is an important function within the Kingdom, and is often how dwed might progress into politics and into courtier positions.

 

Clan Council

 

Royal Clan
The Royal Clan is the clan of the High King. This Clan is well respected within the Kingdom for providing one of its sons to be the leader of the Kingdom. As a result, the Royal Clan is allowed two representatives, and the tie breaking vote.

 

Noble Clans
Noble Clans are typically the largest and well regarded clans, anointed so by the King following service to their Kingdom. They are allowed two representatives, typically the Clan Father and an Elder.

 

Commoner Clans
Commoner Clans are the everyday citizenry of the Kingdom. They are a step above the vassal clans and are allowed a single representative in the Clan Council.

 


SECTION IV: CLAN STATUS
Clan status is something that is looked upon with great honor in the Kingdom of Kaz’Ulrah. Members feel great pride in their Clan and as a result strive to better it as a unit. Clans can gain status, but by the same token, can lose it if deemed appropriate by the High King and his Council. 

 

Royal Clan
The Royal Clan status is acquired when a member of that Clan becomes High King of Kaz’Ulrah. This clan is allowed two representatives and the tie breaker vote in the Clan Council, in addition to being given a Clan Hall, and being allowed to have two Vassal Clans.

 

Noble Clan
A Noble Clan is one that has spent much time within the Kingdom of Kaz’Ulrah and has proven itself time and time again loyal to the Kingdom. This status is granted by the High King and his Council to Clans that have been a part of the Kingdom for at least six stone months. Noble Clan’s are allowed two representatives in the Clan’s Council, a Clan Hall, and two Vassal Clans.

 

Commoner Clan
Commoner Clans are Clans that have spent at least one month within the Kingdom of Kaz’Ulrah and have displayed signs of great potential. They are given a Clan hall and one representative in the Clan Council, and can have one Vassal Clan.

 

Vassal Clan
Vassal Clans are the Clans which are striving to become Commoner Clans. In order to became a Vassal Clan, a group of four Dwed must approach the leader of a Clan and request that they be vassalized under their clan. Then over the period of a month they must gather supplies, their kin and prepare their papers. After the period of a month they are allowed to request Commoner Clan status from the High King and his Council. Vassal Clans have neither a Clan Hall nor a representative in the Clan Council.
