[Wood Elf Sub-Sect Religion Lore] At'um Ser

Recommended Posts

((Please read the note down at the bottom FIRST before you read the lore.))

Creation

From the very first sun and moon came At'um. At'um, a God among Gods, the first God, saw the Void, and the hunk of lifeless rock within the Void. Within the Void emerged a primal force of chaos, Ilbee's. Ilbee's and At'um worked together to create the hunk of floating rock a more beautiful place, and re-named it Earth. When Earth emerged from completion, the Earth expelled the stars, and three Gods, and one Goddess. However, Ilbee's got into a fight with the other Gods, and so At'um cast Ibee's into the wicked hellfire of the Nether. The three Gods, Rashe, Ataum, and Atep created the first races, humans, elves, and dwarves. Rashe gave humans a limited lifespan, but boundless opportunities. Ataum gave the elves longer lifespans and less fertility, he also granted them Malin. Finally, Atep created the dwarves, gave them the second longest lifespan, and gave them the gift of crafting. The final Goddess, Maut, gave birth to seven Gods and Goddess. In total, seven Gods and Goddess where created. Once complete, they ascended into the heavens and made their servants, the Daemons and the Aeugels, and then in turn, the Ascended. As the other Gods and Goddess came to be from the first original three, they in turn made the Orcs, Kha, and halfings. At'um saw that the races where not dying, so he created death, illnesses, and decay. He then made the afterlives, sending the bad and wicked souls into the Nether, and the good and pure souls into Svarga Loka.

The Afterlife

Svarga Loka and The Nether, The River of Judgement, and The Afterlives:

It is said when a person dies, their soul will undertake a journey through The River of Judgement where all those souls get on a boat and ride through. Along the journey, they are greeted by different trials they must undertake.

The first trial is The Suffering and involves the person on the boat to be met with all his or her wrong doings. That person will met everybody he or she wronged in his or her life and be confronted by them. If the person on the boat fails this trial, they are cast back to the beginning of the river, and have to start over again.

The second trial is The Lake of Fire where the soul on the boat is dropped into a Lake of Fire. If the person’s crimes in the Overworld where disastrous, they shall sink like stone to the bottom of the lake, and they shall spend 40 years being punished. Once those 40 years are up, they shall be cast back to the beginning of the river to start over again.

The third and final trial is The Weighing of The Soul and if the person on the boat makes it this far, they shall meet At'um. At'um shall then take their soul and weigh upon scales, if the person in the Overworld was a murderer, dis-honest, lied a lot, and generally lead a life to only inflict pain and suffering, At'um shall take Surtur, which is his flaming sword, and plunge it into the person’s soul. That soul shall turn to ash, and they be sent to the Nether, where they shall remain for the rest of eternity.

However, if the soul is good, did good deeds, and was a hero, the soul shall be sent to Svarga Loka, where they shall remain for all of eternity in paradise.

The Nether:

The Nether is the realm where Ilbee's resides. She punishes the souls that have done wrong in the Overworld, with the help of her daemons. This place is covered in red stone, fire, Soul Sand, and the different monsters that inhabit the place. All souls who enter here are tortured for the rest of eternity, where they shall be roasted, shot at, and devoured by the monsters over and over again.

Svarga Loka:

Svarga Loka is dubbed “the eternal paradise” where all good souls enter after their trials are finished. The place is filled with art, music, the sky is always warm and sunny. The souls will never feel pain, hunger, need, greed, or any of the basic needs or sins. They shall also see all the souls that have passed on to this paradise, such as family members, friends, lovers, etc.

RED LINES:

-The Gods and Goddess are NOT real.

-They cannot perform any magical, divine feats.

-They cannot come down to the earth and mess with mortals.

-Any person who worships them do not get anything special, like weapons, armor, or powers.

CLARIFICATION:

-These Gods and Goddess are worshipped by a sub-sect of Wood Elves who first disagreed with Ascpetism, and branched off to create their own religion.

-These Wood Elves do not think that those racial Gods created the races. They think that their own Gods and Goddess's listed above created them.

-All information here is false IRL, but in-game they heavily think this lore is true.

-Again I cannot stress heavily enough, despite the lore on the forums being correct, in-game these Wood Elves think that this lore above is true, and all others are false. ((However other race's religion lore is still respected))

-Ilbee's is not seen as a daemon, but the judge of souls and the Nether.

If this is just a religion that isn't backed by actual things (as you said that all the information is fake), then it doesn't need lore. You're free to have your character start it in-game, and this post could be moved to the roleplay forums/culture for your group of welves.

Going to affirm what everyone said but I'm the elven loremaster so nobody's opinion matters except me :^)

If you ever want to attempt to make these gods canonical then you'll need to submit a lore submission explaining them in more depth. Otherwise you're free to rp this out as an IC religion
