To The Devotee, It Must Rain

Recommended Posts

Sitting between the dead and the living was no easy task. To like the undead, was ludicrous. To even talk to them could get you killed. It was no easy feat, being a devotee of a self-promoting religion, one which, if not most, covered by user's of dark, unholy magic. It was no secret that being with the undead and unholy magic could leave a permeant frown in most of your once friends, even going so far as them pulling out a weapon.

But try as she might, the more she thought and pondered, true freedom, was creating yourself in your own image. Not following some Gods or Goddess path. True, the Four Lords had given her a chance to follow a path, but the strict guidelines became too much, so she instead became a general worshipper, and she started praying to somebody who hadn't been prayed to, The Creator.

Now not much was known about Him, besides of course, His relevant history within Xionism. But if she couldn't fit in any one of the paths, perhaps she could take an unknown path? One that had not been touched to her knowledge.

She took a deep breath, to steady herself. She now moved herself to sit among the center shrine, the center piece, glowing slowly with an eerie white light.

"Creator, one of the Old Dark, He who breathed life into us Xionists, who made see the true errors of the Aneugal's and the Daemons, I pray to you for guidance. I cannot find the correct path to follow, so I wish to follow yours. I know this is a humble request from an elf, however I seek no power, fame, or glory. I simply wish to follow your guidance, that of the unknown, like the Void. While you may appear faceless, and nameless, within Xionism and to the public, I know that you can be one that has both created and destroyed life. One that can be positive and negative. With those feelings, I wish to submit myself to follow in your path, a nameless, chaotic path. With no set rules, or plans, or guides. I shall still take my oath of pacifism, but I shall remain away from the Four Lords as their tenants I disagree with. May you live in our hearts and minds."

She finished the prayer, rising, giving a bow, and then walking out into the still frigid night air.
