Issued and confirmed by his Excellency, Ser Henry Frederick d’Anpalais, 10th of Snow Maiden, 1647

The Apostolic Kingdom pertains two prevalent taxation systems, which are henceforth in effect within the borders of Marna. Taxation provides the Crown with a consistent fund to better the Apostolic Kingdom, thereby benefiting the overall engagement and development of Marna.

  1. City Taxes

  2. Feudal Taxes

I. City Taxes are placed upon various expenditures within the capital, Senntisten. This includes albeit it’s not limited to: mining, housing, and land. City Taxes may be subject to change.

Currently the active CITY TAX(ES) within the Apostolic Kingdom of Marna are as followed:

  1. Mining Tax: The use of the mine, situated outside of the capital, is taxed. To receive access to the shaft - accessing keys - then they must provide twenty four units of iron to the crown per saints week. To acquire access to the mines one must speak to the Treasurer. Failure to consistently provide appropriate tax to the Crown will result in restriction to the mine shaft.

II. Feudal Taxes are the taxes placed upon the landed nobles of the Kingdom, the tax is a variable that changes depending upon your service to the Crown as well as the size of the nobles demesne. Failure to provide the tax to the Crown will result in punishment which is dependant on the severity of the tax evasion.

Currently the active FEUDAL TAX(ES) within the Apostolic Kingdom of Marna are as follows:

  1. Free Settlements and Barons: If one-hundred able-bodied men, or more, are provided to the war efforts then they will be exempt from any feudal taxes. However, if less are provided then they will be subject to pay a tax of 300 mina to the Crown or its value in assets. If less than half the quota is provided than they will be subject to pay a tax of 500 mina to the Crown or its value in assets.

  2. Counties: If one-hundred and fifty able-bodied men, or more, are provided to the war efforts then they will be exempt from any feudal taxes. However, if less are provided then they will be subject to pay a tax of 500 mina to the Crown or its value in assets. If less than half the quota is provided than they will be subject to pay a tax of 700 mina to the Crown or its value in assets.

  3. Duchies: If two-hundred able-bodied men, or more, are provided to the war efforts then they will be exempt from any feudal taxes. However, if less are provided then they will be subject to pay a tax of 700 mina to the Crown or its value in items. If less than half the quota is provided than they will be subject to pay a tax of 900 mina to the Crown or its value in assets.

Feudal taxes are an important necessity, which will be collected via the Lord Treasurer, from the landed nobles of the Kingdom before, during, or after war or conflict to help fund, repair or generally assist in war efforts. Alternatively, a tax can be requested upon His Majesty's will.

All taxes gathered are handed straight to the Crown, failure to do this will result in the collector to be branded as a thief and insubordinate to the Crown. Theft will result in imprisonment within San Marnantine State Penitentiary, or ultimately, execution.

His Majesty, Frederick Pius of Marna, Apostolic King of Marna, Rhodesia and Waldenia, Duke of Senntisten and Defender of Rhodesia and the Faith, Brother of Saint Lucien

His Excellency, Ser Henry Frederick d’Anpalais, Baron of Marsen, Lord Treasurer and Knight of the Apostolic Kingdom of Marna.
