The   Stolt’aroloth   Bloodline

History:

 

The ancient bloodline of the Stolt’aroloths can be traced back to the original creation of the Mali’fenn. Balthir Stolt’aroloth, first of his bloodline, was one of the few original snow elves to be created by Wyrvun. The story of this bloodline is a peculiar one. This particular family of Snow Elves has a reputation for military loyalty, but a brash attitude. After the Second Siege of Tar'sil, the Stolt'aroloths escaped scarred and battered, believing their Grand Prince to be dead. Fleeing the scene of destruction, and thinking all of their kin to be dead, they sought shelter upon a remote island. Escaping to Axios, it would be decades before they decided to send scouts out to make contact with the other races of Axios, discovering the survival of their kin in the Princedom of Fenn.

 

Upon arriving, the Stolt'aroloths re-established their proud bloodline in Fennic society, quickly regaining their high rank in society and noble stature of old. They took ink to paper and created The Stolt Standard, the finest newspaper in all of Atlas and continents beyond. However, their famed paper was not their only contribution to Fennic society and the world. With their cunning charisma and persuasive skills, this bloodline took charge of the diplomacy of the nation. They bonded old relations and met with enemies, but no achievement greater than crumbling down the Global Assembly from the inside. Today, they still stand as the ambassadorial face of Fenn.

 

Attributes, Disposition, and Physical Traits:

 

Physically, the Stolt’aroloths are much alike to their Snow Elven kin. They bear fit statures, of average height and build for a pristine bloodline of Snow Elves, however they are not stalky. Some of the Stolt’aroloths’ most notable traits are their bright, sparkling green eyes and often light blonde hair, gaining them easy recognition in a crowd or battlefield.

 

The Stolt’aroloths have been described in many terms, some less than savory. A few of these “terms” include brash, condescending, haughty, prideful, firebrand, eccentric, and generally partially or irredeemably  insane.

 

Since the creation of the Snow Elves, the Stolt'aroloths have found themselves to retain a touch of the madness of their pre-Wyrvunic ancestors, manifesting itself in their purist beliefs and contempt for Mali'mira, or non-Snow Elven Mali. Furthermore, the madness has been seen to leak into many of their concepts of the world around them, giving them strange beliefs, and an almost occult interest.

 

Professions:

 

The Stolt’aroloths find themselves to be most proficient in the realm of entertainment and socialization. Story-telling has always been a favored trait among Stolt’aroloths, and paired with their adept brewing skills, this makes a tavern the most likely place to find a member of this bloodline. Furthermore, their story-telling skills expand into the area of literature, where Stolt’aroloths take pride in journalism, whereby they can hoist themselves and their people upon a platform and spread their often unorthodox beliefs.

 

Due to their proficiency in brewing and arguable insanity, the Stolt’aroloths additionally excel in alchemy and the pseudosciences - spending countless hours combining odd substances together and engaging in strange experimentation in labs deep beneath the ground. Their excessively militant tendencies also make them proficient hunters and fishers - an option that they pursue more than the typical Snow Elf.

 

Style of Combat:

The Stolt’aroloth style of combat is often described as unorthodox and wild. Enemies of the Snow Elves have often labeled them as berserkers. Their favored weapon is their shield - upon which they often mount blades for the sake of dealing lethal shield bashes. Swords, fists, and blunt weapons such as maces and warhammers are also often found among the Stolt’aroloths. It has not been entirely unheard of for a Stolt’aroloth to throw all of their weapons at an opponent, before rushing in to finish the job with their bare hands. While they can fight in the vanguard of a Fennic formation, they will occasionally choose to fight out of the formation - carving a bloody, enraged path through their enemies. Their unconventional and improvised skills and methods of fighting can be described as either reckless, or as innovative and adaptive.
