Troubled Silver Waters

Recommended Posts

As Serphin sipped tea in her mother's house, she read the now months old report of the High Elven lost against Marna and Rentus. She frowned, staring at the news report with troubled eyes.

For once, she felt...different. When she was growing up, her Dad taught her how to be pure, how to be High Elven, how to dress, how to clean, how to cook, how to do woman things. She had never had an interest in going against the status quo. It was partly in due to the last Exodus, were she lost most of her family besides her Dad. Lost and confused, they both found a place in the Wilds, and spent months in simple tents. When they heard about the Silver State being re-forged, they returned home, to find her mother.

As always, her mother hated magic and the races with a peculiar distain. Outwardly, she agreed. The Kha leader had shown nothing but racism, calling himself more pure than the entire Silver State. Orcs, well, they where thirsty mongrels, always hunting and itching for war, slaves, and bounty. Humans had their ideals backwards, killing themselves over false Gods and Goddesses. The Halflings...she didn't really have a thought about them, besides they got drunk, smoked, and lived in basic huts. Wood Elves with their false Asecpt worshipping, and the Dark Elves remaining mostly quiet.

However since the news of the Silver States lost against Norland and it's allies, she had been awake many nights. Questions started appearing in her mind. She realized that despite the Silver Army and the Silver State, ever since Cendwen died, things where not doing well for the Silver State. With a diminishing number of allies and citizens, with their already crippled numbers, she could not for-see the Silver State winning. Norland and it's allies would crush the Silver State, only for a couple of remaining Elves after an Exudos to patiently re-build. Beginning the same tired mediums, re-build, return.

The final straw was when her father left the family. Leaving nothing, not even a note, he simply up and vanished from the Silver State. Left alone with only her mother, private resentment began to build, creating an wall between them. She could not see how her Dad would simply leave without their issues coming to light, and her father simply getting fed up with the family, packing his bags, and leaving. If her father, who had in their time in the tents simply left and deserted the Silver State, how could see not question everything?

The once loyal family was falling apart, the Silver State on the brink of collapse, few allies and citizens, and their enemies growing stronger.

Then a new, cursed thought came to her. She tried to push it down, but it kept nagging at the back of her mind. She remembered walking through the park, thinking about these thoughts. She spent many hours, walking, sitting, or otherwise roaming around the tiny enclosure. It was then she finally addressed her issues:

Her family was lost.

The Silver State and it's citizens were dying or leaving.

Their enemies were growing stronger.

And her home....WASN'T HOME.

She took a deep breath, her feet had automatically lead her to the Silver State's archway exit. She took a glance back, biting her lip. She knew stepping out of the city would mean her death if she returned, so it was a now-or-never moment. She exhaled again, lifting her foot and taking a trembling step outward, her feet guided her down the steps, beyond the golden statue, and to the dirt that stretched for miles, which she knew winded to the Human settlements. Her brain kicked in, remaining her that was utterly dangerous. No Orc, High Elven, Wood Elf, or otherwise allow her in. She turned her attention to the South, taking out her soulstone.

She now had no family.

She now had no Silver State, and no citizens.

Her enemies wanted her dead.

And now she had no home.

And with that, Serphin swooshed into the night, much to the disarray of her mother and the Silver State.

Edred Maeyr’onn replies with a very confused tone of voice,

”Karin’ayla, confused mali’thill. You are very, very, very.. very confused! You see,  you said ‘Norland and their allies’ would harm us. We are the ‘allies’ you spoke about! We are allied with Norland.. to be more clear if you need the clarification. Also, the orcs and wood elves are our proposed ENEMIES (mainly those filthy wood elves though). Also.. our enemies are beginning to question each other. I hope this would wrap it up for you’re confused-ness. Ahernan, Van’ayla..”

"I see your troubles, milady. You do not always have to live in fear. Learn to let go of your family's prejudices. Learn to let go of your own prejudices. Living like you're more superior than other races clouds your head with selfish pride, and reality of it just slaps you in the face. GOD is merciful, and GOD is loving. You may not believe it, but it's the truth. If you accept GOD and join the sisterhood, I am sure the Church of the Canon can grant you refuge from those that will no doubt hunt you down." Auralia says in reassurance, hoping to persuade the grief-stricken and troubled High Elf to see the hope that lies in front of her.

"Just learn to stand strong in times of stress, Do not run from your problems, fool." The Aegis would state, returning to him home after the Lag War.
