HedgeHug 2049 Share Posted August 31, 2018 @marimbamonk Idea: LotC HR department. Focussing on OOC conflicts between individual payers and groups. Where GM's focus on more technical and mechanical in-server conflicts. HR can take on the LotC side of things? Thoughts.

The addition of an HR team would definitely alleviate some responsibility from our GMs right now, and it would basically be redefining the entire GM team. Adding a whole other team to the mix is a lot of work, but I see the value in having some sort of separate HR team. Right now, though, it seems like the GM team can manage to handle both of these things. Why do you think the addition of an HR team is important? Know you didn't ask me, but I've often thought of an admin taking up this role and focusing solely on resolving disputes and issues between player groups that don't get along, and also staff issues internally. It'd serve as a higher power to handle sensitive issues as I feel doing a whole team around it would not work out too well. Not a lot of players within the community, or staff for that matter, have a good background in handling complex issues that someone in that field would typically handle. As it stands now each director handles their own teams, GM's handle server side issues, and admins step in when needed for player related issues that are either super complex, or outside the realm of the server. I would say especially from a staff perspective that would be cool to have at least an admin spearheading that so that directors aren't tied up being good cop and bad cop. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this is more or less what the community manager is for (One man HR that is)? Not a condescending question in the slightest. Merely a confirmation that I have a proper understanding of the role and its purpose. On a separate note @marimbamonk I personally enjoy seeing the different artwork and screenshots that have been developed for LOTC. Would there be a possibility of the Media Team developing a community DeviantArt or adding a sort of Gallery tab to the LOTC website so that the community can share artwork or screenshots of different events that they have enjoyed? This could also be useful in terms of the wiki team having better access to when certain events might have taken place for records sake. Naturally, this idea would need some fleshing out in terms of how to best avoid inappropriate content being shared. Still one worth considering! Edit: I am aware of the Media section on the forums that has a place for screenshots, videos, etc. This is to instead of having a bunch of pictures spread out through a bunch of forum posts, centralize things in a collage-like manner. Perhaps character art could be grouped in one section, event pictures in another, etc.
