As Bjolfr Nord walked up to the podium in the town’s Red square, he carried a worn notebook under his arm. He spread out his notes over the wooden stand, then cleared his throat and begun his speech

 

“People of Haense, I am Bjolfr Nord. Just like all of you I have lived in markev for most of my life and when I am not working in the military district I often can be found in either the square or in the tavern. Unlike my opponent I’m not running for a taste of old glory in a city which I’m never in. I’ve worked, lived and befriend many in this cold but incredible city. I am not trying to gain power and spread my name. I am running because I want change for the common man, not just for haense but for the whole empire. I wish not to just serve our king and emperor on the battlefield, I wish to do more. I believe that common folk should be given similar rights to those of nobility not in just economic and political matters but also on military. Haense is one of the largest vassal in the empire not just in the south but of the whole imperial state. Therefore we need to strengthen and maintain our military not just on land but also at sea. I believe our military officials should be given more power when it comes to government and access to the treasury. So that when our emperor calls us Hansetians to battle we can come as swift as a crow. If this past war has proven anything it has shown that a united human military is a strong one. 

 

Now to those who are not Canonists. Even though you tried to destroy our way of life I still believe you should enjoy life in our beloved empire just as like any other Canonists pure blooded human does. Even though you will not be able to ascend in to the seven skies as long as you pay yer taxes or serve in our armies and practice your religion behind closed doors then you should be alright. 

Now I urge you all to go out and vote. Whether for me or my opponent but I have one question to ask you. Would you rather have a man who only sees the best of Markev or one who has seen both the good and bad of our nation.”
