Hey all! Your friendly neighborhood admin here to announce a couple of things for 7.0 that relate to moderation. As well as a couple of rule changes I’ll be going over which are now in effect. If you have comments, opinions, questions or thoughts please make sure to leave them down below; though I will try to lay things out in detail to avoid any confusion.

Wars and raids: To start us off in this update let's talk about wars and raids which have been a topic of concern for 7.0. With a new war rule set coming into play in the near future and the initial chaos that follows a new map launch there were a couple of temporary restrictions we plan to apply in order to help relieve the stress and confusion of transitioning over to 7.0. Make sure to mark these on your calendar as they are important!

Starting March 2nd warclaims will not be reviewed until April 1st. I promise you this will not become an April fools joke.

Starting March 2nd raids will not be allowed until the 15th of March 11:59pm EST.

We want 7.0 to be an enjoyable time for all so while people are getting situated we want to ensure that the core roots of settlement roleplay can take hold before bringing these conflict driven systems into play. Please do note that villain roleplay and attacks on settlements below the minimum number of people to be considered a raid are still allowed. We will be watching raid baiting especially during this period so please play nice for this short period of time!

In addition to those two items above we have also recently changed / added some of our server rules.

Rule update 1: Patches an issue where players were, when approached, ignoring roleplay and running away without sufficient roleplay. While being on the short end of the stick in these kinds of encounters can be frustrating we want to ensure that we as a community hold ourselves to a high standard and provide adequate roleplay to individuals...even if they are trying to take our minas ?

Rule update 2: Adding some wording to the rules relating to spectators in mechanics based combat. We specifically specify that touching craft book signs such as gates and traps is not okay. This was already implied, but we thought it would serve us well to clarify it for everyone!

Rule update 3: We have also clarified that when using the lockpick plugin you must still roleplay. Prior to automating this aspect of roleplay we required this with each roll. It seems that several people have decided to just not roleplay and emote them breaking down the door which is not okay! Moving forward we will be more strict on this since so far we’ve been pretty relaxed.

Can I be downed for continuing on may way, after someone makes a very poor emote, or macros an emote at me, in an attempt to stop me?

That’s what matters to me. I have not interacted with this person, for them to have a viable reason to invoke the rule about “both players interacting.”

§6.1     Sufficient roleplay is required for mechanics-combat.

○      Halting is not sufficient roleplay, the attacker must be close to the person and make an emote, trying to stop them.

○      If the person ignores the roleplay and continues moving they can be downed, revived and the RP resumed, if they run once more they may be executed.

○      An example of a sufficient emote for this purpose can be found here.

If their emote is not sufficient they too can be held to a standard of poor roleplay and you can have a moderator mediate the situation. The purpose of the new rule tacked onto it is to make sure both parties provide sufficient roleplay.

Thanks for adding this asinine layer of subjectivity to what was previously a very easily enforced rule. It’s great that GMs have to get involved now every time someone doesn’t respond to a one-line emote!

If someone says “halt” and I ignore them they should have to down me to continue the rp. I shouldn’t have to emote running away from them if I’m already running mechanically, and this is intuitively what I’m doing in character.

in other news, does anyone know good software for minecraft macros

Moved to The Great Library. It shall be sorted into the appropriate category shortly.

If you feel this is a mistake, please contact myself or any FM and we'll restore it.
