Bluee 443 Share Posted March 15, 2019 Toxicity or toxic can be used as an adjective or noun of meaning unpleasant, harmful or bad and those words generally aren’t adjectives you want applied to your name or your actions. After seeing @Cornivore’s attempt, I thought there could be an actual attempt at an actual in-depth guide, so here it goes, this is my comprehensive guide on how to not be toxic. Step 1: Disassociate yourself from a toxic crowd Toxicity spreads and if you’re around toxic people constantly, you will begin to become like that crowd thus making you toxic in the long run and if you have any goals of one day not being toxic then you must remove yourself from that atmosphere so as you develop out of your toxicity, you don’t have anything to reel you back into that lifestyle. Step 2: Step away when you realize you’re being toxic It’s natural human nature to lash out and defend yourself in situations or to insult the person causing you discomfort in that situation but it’s essential to realize that the person you’re insulting either doesn’t care and isn’t affected by your toxicity (let’s be honest, 95% are immune to toxicity by now) or that it’ll do no good to the situation to be toxic, granted you aren’t doing it just for fun. The best thing to do is take a few deep breaths and continue if you can’t leave the situation or you could ask if you could take a quick breather, a mental break is better than getting banned. Step 3: Remember we are here to have fun Video games are meant to be an escape from reality in a way, we play video games to have fun and enjoy our time and if you’re not having fun then what’s the point (that statement can apply to a lot of things). If you’re being toxic, you’re likely ruining your time and ruining the time of others, and that isn’t cool bro. Cornivore stated that you shouldn’t get caught up in losing pixels, I disagree. Some people obviously care about their pixels, and that’s great, just don’t bring them on a road trip that could end in a bandit robbery so try and avoid situations that could trigger toxicity. Step 4: Toxicity isn’t very cash money When you’re toxic, people begin to not like you and you begin to make a bad names for yourself, I’m sure a few people in LOTC really don’t care and they’re just toxic to be toxic, and they know it’s not very cash money but if you want to be liked, then don’t be toxic using the steps I’ve provided above, you’ll begin to see results and perhaps have a happier and more positive time on our favorite roleplaying server, Lord of the Craft. tox·ic /ˈtäksik/ adjective 1. very bad, unpleasant, or harmful. CanadianKiwiFlight 1901 Share Posted March 15, 2019 Im pretty sure if this community ran upon the simple rule of “dont be a d*ck” there would be a lot less toxicity
chaosgamer_ 764 Share Posted March 15, 2019 I think step one Will be a bit harder. If multiple people are being toxic it’ll be harder to recognize your own behaviour being bad when the others are acting just as worse. besides that, it was a pretty cool guide yeah
