The Golden Owl, darkness is upon us,

With pain and for silver, we bleed,

Apparitions, beasts and the wretched walk amongst us,

We are the shield.

 

Elibar’acal — The Golden Owl

 

The Elibar’acal — also known as The Golden Owl — are both a family and a sect of elves known for their fanatical dedication to the mistrust, and occasionally destruction, of mages and magic. Some time after the 1st high elves bathed in the pools of Larihei the Golden Owl split from their kin, instead growing to mistrust magic — to view it as a danger to the elves and the Descendants as a whole. To them — all magic is dark magic and comes at a great and unbearable cost not only to the practitioner but to those around them who they will consume with their vile practice.

 

The family frequently survives in Nomadic caravans, traveling place to place with their armor, carriages and of course their unending hared for the eldritch and arcane. Due to this penchant for decades of travel they have settled semi-permanently in Haelun’or only a few times before returning to their ancient ways. There are known to be numerous Elibar’acal caravans, some of which do not see one another for centuries.

 

The Elibar’acal 1st reunited with the Mali’aheral of Haelun’or in Asulon. Mistrust and violence characterized their first arrival as Naeri, Athri, Valmuel and the other arrivals

 

. While some lingered for nearly a century, many of this initial wave dispersed once more within a few short decades — leaving the mali’aheral of Haelun’or and the elves in general who witnessed them agast. It had been long since the high elves had known of these Elibar’acal — so long some doubted they had ever existed… And yet there they had been.

 

A 2nd Caravan is known to have arrived while the high elves resided in Vailor — settling at first in the great Citael of Haelun’or before founding the settlement of Fi’Ceru. Unlike this first cohort, the Fi’ they practiced was different — Tempered — as they so referred to it. Whatever fate had befallen the 1st Caravan of Asulon, it seemed some knowledge of Fi’ had been lost to them which this second Caravan had retained. It is this Elibar’acal carvan who had seemingly taken it upon themselves as a pseudo-holy mission to purge dark magic from the realm, before the less vile arcane arts were to be cleansed. This Golden Owl cohort led by the Eliabr’acal Taeleh focused their time in Haelun’or on the ousting of the dark mages which had resided in Haelun’or under the murderous Laethis Izalith and his allies. Eventually, through the power of their Fi’ magics and the pure citizenry the dark mages were driven out… And in time these Elibar’acal too returned to their Caravans, their purpose having passed.

 

And so it is time for a 3rd Caravan of the Elibar’acal to arrive… Is it you who will help craft their newest Journey?

 

Elilnoron’hael — The Third Caravan

 

We’re seeking players OOC who want to be part of the Golden Owl’s unique anti-magic role play. This 3rd Caravan will consists of new characters typical of an Elibar’acal cohort, as well as returning characters who — by serendipity — have ended up uniting on their travels.

 

Roles we’re filling include:

 

Elibar’acal Family Members — Both those interested in magic and non-magic role-play are welcome. Given the fundamentally self-limiting aspect of Fi (requiring Souls) there are ample opportunities for those who wish to be Fi’ mages as well as those who wish to be the stalwart physical guardians of these mentally crippled and often psychotic anti-magic wielders

Dark Elves & Archons — The Elibar’acal are known for prosthelytizing their beliefs to other elven communities. Their fanatical beliefs often presented in sermon-like liturgies to the communities they pass (frequently the dispersed dark elves who live in smaller communities) has led to followers who wish to take up arms against the unsettling and vile nature of magic. Systematically these dark elves are frequently brainwashed to either serve the cause, or even sacrifice their forms to become the New lore creature of Anti-magic the Archon. 

A Kharajyr — Given we’re interested in having a diverse group, if there were a noble Kharajyr (whose family had been killed by mage-orcs leaving them orphaned) who hated magic and had joined the family on their nomadic journey… No doubt this character would be appreciated.

An Imprisoned Spectral — Tempered Fi’ as of both its new iteration and previous iteration has enabled the shackling of prisons to Binding Stones. While Fi’ anti-mages distrust magic… Spectrals are seen by some caravans as a part of the Natural world, and not a perversion of it like the arcane. The right spirit might serve a role. 

Other Characters — Ultimately we’re building a Caravan here. There are no limitations to the types of characters who could have been picked up along the way, so long as they are devoted to the cause of purging the taint that is magic. Have an idea? Suggest it. The group is intended to be diverse (though obviously we’re not trying to keep a zoo — so limiting most characters to high elves, Kha or Dark Elves is desired where possible). However, you can propose anything.
