TO OUR BELOVED SUBJECTS,

 

By order of the Holy Orenian Emperor of the Holy Orenian Empire, the following act known as the Imperial Calendar Reform Act of 1679 is reconfirmed through the Imperial Realms, with minor changes...

 

• All units of time which utilize the term ‘Elven’ shall now be replaced with the following,

  • An ‘Elven Hour’ shall henceforth be referred to as an ‘Imperial Hour’.

  • An ‘Elven Day’ shall henceforth be referred to as a ‘Saint’s Day’ or a ‘Month’.

  • An ‘Elven Week’ shall henceforth be referred to as a ‘Saint’s Week’ or a ‘Year’.

  • An ‘Elven Month’ shall henceforth be referred to as a ‘Saint’s Month’.

  • An ‘Elven Year’ shall henceforth be referred to as a ‘Prophet’s Year’.

• All months shall be referred to as ‘Legacies’, with the common months replaced with the following,

  • The first month of ‘Snow’s Maiden’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Horen’s Calling’ or ‘Menis Horenitius (Month of Horen)’.

  • The second month of ‘Malin’s Welcome’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Owyn’s Light’ or ‘Menis Ovenitius (Month of Owyn)’.

  • The third month of ‘First Seed’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Godfrey’s Triumph’ or ‘Mensis Godfreditis (Month of Godfrey)’.

  • The fourth month of ‘Grand Harvest’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Tobias’ Bounty’ or ‘Mensis Tobialis (Month of Tobias)’.

  • The fifth month of ‘Sun’s Smile’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Sun’s Smile’ or ‘Mensis Solarius (Month of the Sun)’.

  • The sixth month of ‘Amber Cold’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Harren’s Folly’ or ‘Mensis Aeternitius (Month of Harren)’.

  • The seventh month of ‘Deep Cold’ shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Sigismund’s End’ or ‘Mensis Segimondites (Month of Sigismund)’.

• As calculated by the greatest Imperial scholars in the realm, it has been discovered, due the incompetence of the ancient elven mathematicians and astrologists, that the Prophet’s Year requires an additional month to be added to every fourth Prophet’s Year, and so the following month, dubbed below, is added between the months of Horen and Owyn,

  • The leap month shall henceforth be referred to as ‘Julia’s Grace’ or ‘Mensis Juliana (Month of Julia)’.

 

These protocols shall remain in effect until altered by the Holy Orenian Emperor of the Holy Orenian Empire, or else changed by later legislature.
