Light’s Out

13th of the Deep Cold, 1729

[!] During the night, the tavern lights would be completely off and the gates would be shut. A single sign with a pamphlet on the matter was left there, for all ‘thill to read.

Van’ayla, my treasured friend. You were among the only ‘thill brave enough to fight the forces of darkness daily, therefore it led you on many great adventures through Arcas. However, you have taken your life within the tavern I strove to care for and nurture. Mister Maleos, you perished within the walls that I had hoped to defend those from conflict in. I understand that there were many misunderstandings that occurred during your time here, but I hope those involved will not focus on the past, and will instead mourn with me. With that, the tavern will be closed for a couple of elven days to mourn Maleos Aldin. I apologize for any inconvenience it may have towards ‘thill wishing to mingle, but I hope to mourn within my once joyful tavern. Ahernan.

Rest in peace, within the Silver Walls Maleos Aldin. The citizenry will carry on what you left behind.

Sincerely,
Uppori Visaj

[!] The note would end with the seal of the Visaj Family, stamped with a calming sky blue tone. Though, it seemed full of sorrow rather than happiness, as each letter that was written would have a tear mark or two on it.

OOC: The tavern will re-open August 21st @ 9:00AM EST

Silir Uradir’s cranium tilts with interest, a light scoff sounding from his lips.

”Do we dare to celebrate the death of an impure? Taking your own life is impurity at its finest; nay, we shall not regard such behavior with mourning. Violence against one’s self will not be rewarded with empathy.”

((RIP Maleos, was a solid member of our city.))

Silir Uradir’s comment

Uppori Visaj would listen idly to his comment, as she would know that it was incredibly impure to do such a thing. To take one’s life, was one of cowardice and betrayal to the state. However, the friendship she had with the individual known as Maleos would make her falter, and forced her to sink deeper in the abyss of melancholic emotions. She could not forget his endless fight to expose the darkness, even though he died as an impure.

Maleos Aldin’s spirit would offer only a cold stare at Daerine, whispering, “You know no one would believe me, and I would never let Caestella throw me in the pit.” Before departing for the astral plane, he would utter, “Contract fulfilled.”

Edit: Maleos danced into the astral plane, playing his rendition of Pretty Boy.

Ilyana could do nought but let off a small smile as the news reached her, feeling emboldened in her belief that the state had grown into a wicked perversion of its own ideals now that one of its communal corner stones had shown such impure behavior as ridding himself of life. Regardless she only dwelled on the news briefly before going back to her conversation

Sulraell grins, fiddling with his bracelet somewhere in the grass.  ”Finally someone courageous enough to do it...”

Durothil was never quite the same after watching his best llir die, his smile never quite as wide, eyes never quite as warm and posture never quite as jolly. This day truely shook the twins to their core.

Vexalia lowered her gaze as word reached her from Fenn. Despite her distance now from the silver city, she couldn’t help but feel she’d failed one of her truest allies.
