Draeris 3124 Share Posted September 30, 2019 AS THE VINES ENTANGLE US The union between Henrietta de Leumont & Laurence Geoffrey Suffolk IN AMPLE TIME, House de Leumont became a presence in the imperial theatre by its own merit; employing a variety of functionaries in the Imperial and Suffonian government respectively. While not an unusual path for a landed house to establish itself, the former d’Amaury’s found their bloodline a proven obstacle; unable to garner favour with the ancien houses of the imperial peerage, who found themselves fighting against Lorraine throughout the generations. Followed by the romantic tragedy of Jasper de Sarkozy and Valerie de Leumont, who due to imperial intervention found their marriage annulled, House de Leumont braced itself for heirless temporarity. The concerns were expressed in vain however, as Henrietta de Leumont found herself eyeing the young Laurence Geoffrey Suffolk in the Bustier Royale. What started as a couple of giggles, turned into poetry and expressions of sensuality. Before the expressions could be acted upon: Laurence insisted to Henrietta that she was to meet his patriarch, so that they both could appeal to his empathy for a young couple in love. Despite the stigma of de Leumont’s controversial origins and the diplomatic situation in the Empire: Edward ‘I’ Suffolk had chosen to agree. Not out of empathy as the couple imagined, but out of concerns of heirless temporarity as well. While House Suffolk had branches into the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and the Sarkozy family, never would it have entangled a Crownland’s vassal within its sphere of influence like this. This opportunity was also of great interest to the Suffolk entourage; consisting of many relatives and the Viscount of Halburg. As they eyed the damsel with critical gazes, judging her every word and motion, they understood that she had sufficient elegance and intelligence to fit in a Suffolk court. The entourage agreed with Edward in allowing them to wed, albeit jealous and reluctant at the same time. Presided over by Father Gerrard of Warwick merely two days later, the young couple promised their life and their youth to each other in the picturesque garden of the Warwick palace. An union was officiated under the watchful eye of GOD, as they are to entangle two eccentric houses into each other. As such, an awkward conflict of interest, embodied by the nimble hands of two lovers, intertwined, shall deliver an interesting tale for the court chroniclers. Will the pages speak of love, prosperity and unity? Or of conflict, decay and intrigue? Only GOD will know.
