The Temple Guard

The Temple Guard, are tasked with the protection of the Onyx Sanctum, and the faithful Mali'ker across the realm. 

 

Joining the Guard

  • Temple Guard must be faithful to the spirits and give proper reverence to their ancestors. 

  • Non-Mali'ker may only join upon a full and proper conversation to honorary status. 

  • Mali'ker must reach the age of 20 to serve within the temple guard. 

  • Each applicant must prove themselves in a form of combat. 

 

Hierarchy of the Guard

 

Vaotor: Head of the Guard:

 

Selecting the Vaotor

  • The Vaotor must be approved by the Primarch Qudlia Jusmia. 

  • The Vaotor must be skilled in combat, should multiple make an attempt for the position, several spars will occur to determine who can best lead and train the guard. 

  • The Primarch Qudlia Jusmia has the final say in the appointment of Vaotor. 


 

Duties of the Vaotor

 

  • The Vaotor earn seals upon their armor, for each deed they provide to the guard. Be this in the form of helping out their fellow guard or members of the Sanctum, feats in combat, and other deeds. These deeds may consist of providing smithing services to the Guard, proving defense of the Sanctum. These are rewarded by the Primarch Qudlia Jusmia

  • The Vaotor must implement and uphold a weekly training regime. 

  • The Vaotor is tasked with the training and recruitment of  Temple Guard. 

  • The Vaotor is tasked with keeping the morale of the Guard. Feeding the Guard, and helping the Sanctum supply armor and weaponry for the Guard. 

  • The Vaotor is required to perform rites before battle and ensure Guard rally. 

  • The Vaotor, in times of peace or 'down time', must ensure the Guard stay active and fit. 

  • The Vaotor, in times of a siege or defense of siege, must ensure the Temple Guard act in accordance to the Commanding Officer. 

  • The Vaotor, in times of war, is required to enforce a mandatory draft of Sanctum citizens. 

  • The Vaotor, in times of a direct siege against the Sanctum, is required to enforce citizens fight to defend the Sanctum. 

  • The Vaotor, in times of a direct siege against a dark elven ally settlement, is required to conscript willing citizens and enforce Temple Guard rally to the cause. 

  • The Vaotor, in times of a direct siege against an allied settlement, is required to conscript willing citizens and Temple Guard to rally to the cause. 

 

Soritor: Heart of the Guard

 

Becoming a Soritor

  • Soritor's are approved by the Vaotor. Soritor's will be escorted with the Guard to a local body of water, protecting the Soritor as they devote themselves to the ancestors. Adorn a paste paint of an onyx hue, kneeling along the body of water. 

  • Soritor's are required to have knowledge of matters of survival, combat, violent monsters, dark shamanism and magics, magical elements, and magical afflictions. Or be willing to undergo training to learn such. 

  • Soritor's are required to learn the basics of medical practice, and use them efficiently as possible for battlefield practice. 

  • Soritor's are required to learn of herbology, to identify fauna. 

  • Soritor's are required to learn of monsters of the land, to identify them. 

  • Soritor's are required to have knowledge of saddle riding and sailing. 

  • Soritor’s are required to erect a shrine to both a devoted Ancestor and Spirit

 

Duties of the Soritor

  • Soritor's earn seals upon their armor, for each deed they provide to the guard. Be this in the form of helping out their fellow guard or members of the Sanctum, feats in combat, and other deeds. These deeds may consist of providing smithing services to the Guard, proving defense of the Sanctum. These are rewarded by the Vaotor 

  • Soritor's are required to help train the Temple Guard, and feed the Temple Guard. Soritor's are tasked with the education of the Temple Guard on the following matters of identifying dark mages, magic, monsters, fauna, survival skills

  • Soritor's are to help defend the Mali'ker and those within the Sanctum. 

 

Horatior: Strength of the Guard

 

Becoming a Horatior

  • Horatiors are approved or conscripted by the Vaotor. The Horatiors are taken to a high peak, before the moonlight and tested of their strength. After this, the Horatiors return to the Sanctum to rest and meditate. 

 

Duties of a Horatior

 

  • Horatior's earn seals upon their armor, for each deed they provide to the guard. Be this in the form of helping out their fellow guard or members of the Sanctum, feats in combat, and other deeds. These deeds may consist of providing smithing services to the Guard, proving defense of the Sanctum. These are rewarded by the Vaotor 

  • Horatiors are required to train actively every two elven days to ensure they are fit to defend in times of need. 

  • Horatiors report to the Vaotor, Primarch Qudlia Jusmia, Soritor, in cases of heretical activities. Heretical activities are dark shamanism or magic. Cases of Voidal magics, druidic magics, Xan magics, dragonic magics, or other nonspiritual magics, Horatiors report to local citizens, The Vaotor, Primarch Qudlia Jusmia, Vaotors, and other Horatiors. 

  • Horatiors are tasked with only killing a Mali'ker if absolutely required to ensure the safety of another or themselves. Horatiors are required to refine from needless violence against forgiven forces, acting only in self-defense. Horatiors are to report violence against the Sanctum, it's people and the Mali'ker. 

  • Horatiors must learn of saddle riding and sailing. In addition to picking up a trade to help aid the Sanctum. 

  • Horatiors must ensure the protection of the Sanctum, within and outside of the Sanctum, each Horatior is encouraged to accompany members of the Sanctum on travels, equip with proper gear. 

  • Horatiors must maintain their den, armor, and weapons. Maintain good health, diet, and physical exercise. 

  • Horatiors are tasked with the protection of the Mali'ker, and must aid against threats to the Sanctum and allied Dark Elven settlements.

  •  Horatiors must listen to the Vaotor both on and off the battlefield. 

 

Mahratior: Care of the Guard

 

Becoming a Mahratior

  • Mahratior's are approved, or conscripted by the Vaotor. 

  • Mahratior's are required to learn or have extensive medical knowledge or extensive practices. 

  • Mahratior's are required to have or be willing to gain a general knowledge of writing, reading, speaking, and other general life skills. Such as cooking, cleaning, trade work, common sense, and have or be willing to gain knowledge of the ancestors and spirits.  

  • Mahratiors are sworn into an oath before the Vaotor. 


 

Duties of a Mahratior

  • Mahtatior are required to tend to sickly of the Sanctum and Temple Guard.

  • Mahtatior are required to tend to the wounded of the Sanctum and Temple Guard.

  • Mahtatior must keep their equipment sterile and clean between each use. 

  • Mahtatior must tend to patients until they are deceased or made well.

  • Mahtatior are required to tend to wounded Temple Guard and allies in case of a siege.
