The King sees it fit to formally establish his Advisory Cabinet. Revealing his chosen ministers to the public eye. 

 

As recognized by its title, the Cabinet acts not as an executive branch of governance, but rather as consultants yielding to the authority of their monarch - weighing in their own personal experiences and skills in order to aid the process of ruling. However, with their newfound influence derived from being the King’s closest compatriots, they are afforded a great deal of influence. Which, through their Sovereign, are they capable of expanding such upon the Realm. 

 

There are little to no requirements for becoming a part of the Cabinet, one could be of Qalisheen, Kaedreni, Renatian, Illatian; only diligence, loyalty, and competency are expected of those wishing to make their presence known. The King seeks to establish a truly meritocratic system, in which competency is favored prior to any pre-established ancestry. It is in this ambition that a statement is said true; anyone attempting to debase such an initiative shall expect to be reprimanded severely. 

 

It is hoped, with the publication of this document, the People of Haense may garner a greater understanding of the Crown’s machinations. Another veil removed as the King seeks to clear away any uncertainty the public may have with the ruling clique.

THE LEADERSHIP

The eldest born under the Haeseni starry constellation of the Frysklund the Northern Drake, of the union of King Andrew IV and Queen-Consort Maya Alimar. Sigismund inherited the throne amidst strife and turmoil, with his father having succumbed to battlefield injuries, and his Realm embroiled in war. Having assumed the regal mantle at the age of five, a Provisional Government was first established under the Regency of the Honorable Tibyr Barrow, with it being inherited by Otto Sigmar after Tibyr’s capture and execution at the hands of Rubernian operatives. Both of whom proved to have had a great impact on the formation of Sigismund’s mentality and ethical behaviourism.

 

Free from all the politicking usually involved with his newfound position, Sigismund was made to focus entirely upon his studies and lessons under scrutiny of his strict, yet fair mother, Maya Valeriya. The adolescent has proven sufficient in the following; Auvergenian, Waldenian, Nauvmariav, Hunnician Languages, and of course, the tongue of the people, Alkazarian Jrentic. As expected of one’s royal station, Sigismund was also inducted into the studies of Cannonist Theology, Imperial and Haeseni Law, Physical Education, Etiquette and History. 

 

However, this rigorous routine of repetition has spurred within Sigismund the spirit of deviance, with there having been many reports on the multitude of occasions when the young king dismissed the guidance of his peers in lieu of his own childish ambitions. His childish tendencies would develop into an explosive temper, as the King struggled to come to terms with the unjust murdering of people he held close - his mother’s death to an assassin’s blade primarily. Recent assassination attempts on his life has caused him to be unable to speak any louder than a whisper most of the time, however, with great pain and displeasure he can force a shout. A bolt having struck his neck causing this impediment, saved only by expert care taking and magical assistance.

 

It has been good governance and order that has maintained his Realms this far, achieved under the oversight of his Regent, Otto Sigmar. With the foundation for his rule established by his Regent, turned Palatine, Sigismund inherited a stable and functional Kingdom. A Kingdom emerging victorious from war along with its Imperial overlord, with a new generation of capable and able subjects to take the banner of leadership.

THE INNER CIRCLE

Consisting of the apexes of excellence Haense can offer, the Inner Circle could be comprehended as a society of the most influential powers within the courtly affairs of the Realm - directing much of the King’s authority as representatives and delegates. From the following selection, it is noticeable what aspects of governance is focused the most upon, with each member of the Circle being afforded an informal jurisdiction to oversee.

 

The occupancy of the Inner Circle must always remain staffed at seven members, in remembrance of the Burgundian Host of Antiquity (Waldorf Basin Era), of which started with only seven members; Brzyżek, of Mejen, Huss of the Lilies, of Gaekrin, Ian Ortsen, an Adunian, Lorik Svensen, a Haensman, William the Beggar, of Aaun, Anton the Sepoy, a Rudran, and its first Hetman, Jan Yeremi, of Lahy. A prophetic betrayal of great proportion is said to occur upon those who fail to maintain this tradition.

HIS GRACE, THE DUKE OF VALWYCK, PETYR BARUCH

HERZEN PALATEBNY AND CHANCELLOR OF THE CROWN

His Grace the Duke of Valwyck, Petyr Baruch is known for his blunt honesty and willingness to compromise. Despite his young age, he has proven himself in Haeseni politics through the Valwyck Pact and subsequent Valwyck Compromise. He exhibits traits common to House Baruch, including his wrothful nature. Despite his sometimes unruly attitude, his efforts in helping his realm gained him the role of Palatine Aspirant in 1758, set to be the successor of Otto Sigmar. Personified by Jan Yeremi, of Lahy.

 

HIS HIGHNESS, HERZEN VAN GALAHAR, OTTO RUPERT

OVERSEER OF INTERIOR AFFAIRS

Acting as the Duke of Galahar, as well as being the uncle of the King - Rupert represents the necessity of familial connection. Having suffered the loss of most of his immediate family at a young age, the prince prizes his kin above all else. In his youth, Rupert found himself plagued by scandal as he was known to lead a most uncanonist life, which would lead to the breaking of his betrothal to the Helvetii Princess Margaret. Eventually however, he proved himself as a leading figure of the expedition sent to recover the remains of Saint Karl from Athera along with many other relics of cultural significance. He has a passion for history and is a strong supporter of traditional Hansetian values. Personified by William the Beggar, of Aaun.

 

HIS EXCELLENCY, THE HERZEN MARKYAL, DUKE ERWIN BARCLAY

OVERSEER OF NATIONAL DEFENSE

His Grace, the Duke of Reinmar, Marshal Barclay has proven himself to the Realm as its most capable director of defensive affairs, which has resulted in his immediate appointment to the Cabinet prior to its establishment. Lord Barclay has also spread his influence throughout the standing Army of Haense, the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, from which he acts as its Commander. Though a natural position for a man of Barclay lineage to acquire, due to their militant history, Erwin has proven himself far more capable than his predecessors, having shaped the Haeseni State Military into the organization it is today. Personified by Anton the Sepoy, the Rudran.

 

OTTO THE TARCHARMAN

Otto Cetibor Barrow is a Haenso-Tarchar monk and mystic, born 16th of Joma and Umund, 246 ES, as the illegitimate son of Heinrik Ludovar and a Tarchar peasant woman known only as Yasmin. A goat-herder by trade in the village of Dasoguz, he was conscripted into the Haeseni levy upon the break-out of the War of Two Emperors, serving as skirmisher cavalry early in the conflict. At the bloody Siege of Helena, he was injured heavily (losing his eyes, his left ear cut in two, and missing three of his molars) and remained in bedrest for the rest of the war due to a festering infection. After almost a miraculous recovery, he devoted his career to a monastic life, though due to lack of money and wish to support his mother, he took up odd jobs through the hinterlands of Haense. 

 

After some years, he self-taught himself how to read and write, later taking positions as minor clerk in small trade ports or notary of one of the small villages dotting the highlands. After his mother’s death from a bout of measles, he left to join a monastery in Haense’s capital region, eventually rising through the ranks and being consecrated as first as priest, and later as Archbishop of Jorenus both by Pontiff John I, though his tenure lasted only ten years, later retiring to pursue scholastic studies. Throughout his life, Otto has written and published numerous treatises, papers, and books on Haeseni culture, mythology, and religion, and remains a prolific author to this day. Personified by Huss of the Lilies, the Kaedrinian.

 

THE HONORABLE BURSARI, RENNARD AMADOR

OVERSEER OF FINANCIAL AFFAIRS

The newest addition to the cadre of advisors, Rennard was selected due to his acute understanding of things logistic. Having made his name off of his family’s legacy, the monetarily affluent House of Amador, Rennard was appointed to the Director of the Haense Fur Trade Company, as well as the position of High Steward within the King’s Aulic Council, and later the position of Treasurer. From there, with his wealth of knowledge regarding the matters of economics, Rennard has far outperformed any other entrepreneur within Haense, with his goods now being sold on every street of the Capital. Such ambitions are complimented by his sense of diligence and competency, being able to cooperate with both the Head of State and its subjects in order to better the Realm’s quality of life. SIGMUND CORBISH

One of the Kingdom’s longest serving politicians, Mr. Corbish has proven his aptitude in the matters of the interior, and its constituents, having been both an Imperial Senator, and as an Alderman for the Royal Duma of Haense. His fingers can fit into hard to reach places. Personified by Lorik Svensen, the Haensman.

Acting as the incumbent head of the King’s Cabinet, the Palatine is the penultimate authority of the realm, second only to the Sovereign of Haense. Informally regarded as the King’s right hand, the Palatine sees fit to dispatch the authority bestowed unto him - resulting in their immediate appointment to the forefront of the Advisory Cabinet. 

Otto Sigmar Alimar (born 21th of Wzuvar and Byvca, 243ES) is Haense’s 26th Palatine, and as of 315ES, is the Palatine for the King. Born in Markev to Prince Edward Barbanov and his wife, Lady Irena Colborn, Otto’s childhood was defined by chaos. He and his brothers were the definition of troublemakers, pranking and attacking innocents in the Krepost palace as young boys. As an adolescent, Otto trained with the soldiers of the Royal Army and often joined their ranks to fight against bandits and other raiders, quickly developing a name for himself as a military man. It was during these fights that he developed his most noticeable feature, his blinded eye. 

 

As he grew into an adult, Otto was appointed the Exchequer of the Interior by King Marius II, responsible for overseeing the military and the maintenance of the capital city of Reza. In this role, Otto saw to the dissolution of the Royal Army and the formation of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, the military order that has remained as Haense’s primary military force. Tragedy struck when, during the War of Two Emperors, he lost not only his royal cousin but also his two brothers as well. Since then, he has served in many offices in the government, acting as Lord Marshal, Exchequer, and finally as Regent to King Sigismund II during his years of minority. By far, the Grand Prince is the eldest noble of all Haense, resulting in an unquestionably long record of service to the Crown. Personified by Jan Yeremi of Lahy.

Maya Valeriya Alimar (born 13th of Tov and Yermey, 283ES), or regally Maya of Muldav, was the twelfth Queen Consort of Hanseti-Ruska through her marriage to King Andrik IV, and is now the Queen Dowager, or Queen Mother, to her son King Sigismund II. She serves as the overseer of all palatial ongoings, palace to city revelries, and is the headmaster and founder of the Royal Academy of Saint Catherine. Prior to her queenship, she served as the Grand Lady of the Royal Courts to Queen Milena of Adria from 1744 to 1746 and fought within the Rubern War. Personified by Huss of the Lilies.
