II. Summation of Goals

The Realm is now at a crossroads. In light of the rise of secularism, exclusive administrative governance by a bureaucratic elite, oppressive tactics by mammoth corporate entities, a loss of connection to the common man and a loss of perspective into our genteel traditions, the goals of the Everardine that were discussed at the convention are as follows.

On Religion

We, the Everardines, believe in a reaffirmation of our Canonist vows. We hold GOD and the Church as cornerstones of the Realm. We stand in opposition to the secularist governance, politicking and irreverent narratives that have surfaced.

We seek to further support the Church as an Institution and the way of life.

On the Common Man

We, the Everardines look to the Common Man as a bastion of all that is right and should be. By holding our first assembly in the New Reza Tavern we commit ourselves to you.

We commit ourselves to the man who has lost out due to the exclusivity of controlling groups and overbearing administrators. We seek to minimize the government’s intrusion into your life. We seek to streamline bureaucratic processes so you can worry less about the correct forum and more about your family.

We like you are diverse. We are representative of all corners of the Realm. We are not high ranking homogeneous socialites with wealth to spare.  We are individuals who have come together in unity to hold up a shield and slow the onslaught of elitism.

On the Military

Meritocracy and virtue have delivered us out of the jaws of defeat and into the hands of Victory. We owe ourselves to the military of the Empire, who have single handedly managed to turn back the tide of the once notable A.I.S.

We owe this hallowed institution of the Empire our lives and the social progress that we see today. Our immense and unending gratitude is extended to them, and therefore we seek to bolster the pride in our military and promote cohesiveness throughout.

To this, we owe this hallowed institution of the Empire our thanks and lives.

We seek to bolster the military and to promote cohesiveness throughout it. We seek the streamlining of the justice institution to allow effective and fair law enforcement to take place. We seek to raise the standard and quality of living for our military men and women.

On Economics

The small business owners of the Empire are under pressure from mammoth corporate entities that seek the dominance of local and national economies. This is not in the foundation of the Empire.

The economic success of Oren has proved itself for generations to be in the wisdom of small businesses and local merchants. The monopolized business model which now erodes our economic endeavors can not be sustained. We seek a return to the non-monopolized, pro-small business models that made the Empire an economic powerhouse.

III. Minutes

Spoiler

John Everard Pruvia: “May I welcome you all honorable gentlemen and lords to the First General Assembly of the Party Everardine.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Hear, hear!

Ed Myre rises to his feet, seconding the man’s toast, “Hear, Hear!”

Farooq Gray bangs his mug on the table, “Hear, Hear!”

Siguine var Ruthern knocks on the table, “Aye!”

Father Erasmus: “Hear, hear.”

Sigmar Baruch: “Da!”

Alaric DeNurem: “Hear, hear!”

John Everard Pruvia: “To those who haven't met me prior, I am John Everard Pruvia, Chairman.”

John Everard Pruvia: “It pleases me greatly to see some of the most respected and esteemed men in all of this grand Empire here today to engage in this joyous event with myself.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Today we will be debating the nature of this very party, defining it for the generations to come.”

Laurence August Pruvia: “Hear, hear.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Hear, hear!”

Ed Myre: “Hear, hear!”

John Everard Pruvia: “Today we will be discussing our great and noble fight to preserve the traditions, institutions and integrity of this Empire against the encroaching secularism of self-interested bureaucrats and burghers alike.”

Ed Myre: “Hear, Hear!”

John Everard Pruvia: “We are joined under the Divine Light of God, righteous and true in our fervor and patriotism to continue on the great path that this Empire has embarked upon.”

John Everard Pruvia: “When we emerge victorious we shall use our power and representation to ensure that the God-fearing common man is protected and that our military grows ever stronger.”

Siegmund Corbish: “What the **** is this.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “A convention.”

Ed Myre: “Ah Sir Corbish, beg our pardon, we are rather in the midst of things.”

John Everard Pruvia: “However I don't intend to bend your ear for too long, good men. I would like to introduce the Lord Ruthern as our first guest of honor today.”

Siegmund Corbish: “Who gave you permission to hold a convention in the tavern?”

Sigismund II: “No interruptions are allowed whilst these men remain in my territories, Siegmund. Carry on.”

Siguine var Ruthern rises from his seat, “I must say, it is a true honor to here today.”

Siguine var Ruthern: “I've served on the Imperial Senate before, it was full of gridlock and division. What I see here is hope to change that.”

Siguine var Ruthern: “I look forward to working with you all, and I wish to introduce my dear friend Sigmar, Lord Baruch.”

Sigmar Baruch “Greetings honourable gents from the Empire, thank you for coming to our humble home of New Reza, I look forward to working with you all.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Myre, do you want to take it away with our first order of business?”

Ed Myre: “Of course Chairman, if you do say so.” He rises.

Ed Myre: “I am Ed Myre, son of Alfred Myre Golden Prince of Ves. I am Pleased to be here. Now onto business!”

Charles Talraen de Rennes remembers Alfred Myre….

Ed Myre: “I believe that this Party is a party of religion, of tradition, of virtues and of our dear fellows protecting us from Nottingham foes.”

Ed Myre: “We believe in the military might of those soldiers residing in Reza, those soldiers in Helena and Kaedrin, and anywhere else in this Realm.”

Ed Myre: “I do believe that this Party should be defined by our good graces to the common man, that we are not just some politicians who hide behind cold words.”

Ed Myre: “Now, I wish not to hog this floor. Let the Convention open to debate on the matter of what our message is , what our goal is. If you wish to speak, raise your hand and I shall allot you time.”

Ed Myre: “Father please.”

Father Erasmus: “Gentlemen, since the beginning of our nation, the Church and the State have always been tied together. I cannot doubt that any one man in this room is not a GOD fearing man, but I have read disturbing news from men outside this room.”

Father Erasmus: “Some men have begun advocating for religious heathens and heretics to reside within our great nation! It is under my belief that our party should advocate for the defense of religion, and we should hold a Canonist first policy within our party.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Hear, hear!”

Father Erasmus: “Good men of the empire, I sure hope that you agree.”

Ed Myre nods to Lajos, “And you sir, you wish to speak?”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Greetings everyone. If you do not know, I am the former Senator Lajos Károly, brother of Bishop Krisztián, bless his soul. One question that I think we must cover is how elections can fit into our glorious absolutist empire.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “It is my belief that elections serve to allow for the Emperor to have people that can help in governing his empire. Although he is chosen by GOD as His representative in governance, he is still a man.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Yet, elections can also allow for degeneracy and heresy to corrupt our institution. So elections should only exist when they strictly follow the morals of GOD and assist the Emperor in governing his Empire. I hope the rest of you may agree.”

Josiah: “Hear, hear.”

Konrad raises a hand.

Ed Myre nods to Konrad, “I believe you wished to speak.”

Konrad: “I have a question regarding the party's stance on industrialization, I'm sure you all saw the factory outside the city on your way here, and the gray haze around it, ruining the natural beauty of the realm. Does this party oppose such things?”

Konrad: “I'd also like to hunt without choking on smog every minute I'm out there.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Considering we are just now establishing the principles in formality I suppose we can debate such a topic.”

John Everard Pruvia: “However my opinion on that rests on the laurels on our desire for protectionism.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Any business that has grown so large to build great factories in their private interests surely are monopolizing burghers Having consolidated their power at the common man's expense. However you here are free to disagree with this.”

Laurence August Pruvia: “Hear, hear!”

John Everard Pruvia: “I would like to call on my brother, Philip Louis Pruvia to bring up his topic of interest.”

Philip Louis Pruvia: “We must ensure the poorer among us are protected from corporate greed. In my experience from Helenan citizenry, the farmers and miners for example do not have the liberty to grow without being overlooked due to larger companies in the city.”

Philip Louis Pruvia: “We need to limit the power of Corporations and help the Poor among us have equal representation and equal opportunity in stately and mercantile affairs.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Hear, hear!”

Ed Myre: “Hear, Hear!”

Conrad Barclay: “Hear, hear!”

John Everard Pruvia “Hear, hear!”

Laurence August Pruvia: “Hear, hear!”

Alaric DeNurem: “Hear, hear!”

Father Erasmus: “Hear, hear!”

Otto Wittenbach: “Hear, Hear!”

Philip Louis Pruvia: “I turn my time back to the Chair. Thank you.”

Philip Louis Pruvia: “I have matters to attend to in the Capital. Thank you for having me, Chairman.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Ed Myre, would you like to summarize the topics we discussed?”

Justin d'Épression raises a hand.

Ed Myre: “Go ahead sir.”

Justin d'Épression: “I'd like to apologize, first, if I sound too blunt, I do not seek to make enemies.”

Ed Myre: “I welcome discussion, please proceed.”

Justin d'Épression: “I am but a commoner, I don't understand matters of religion, nor economy, nor politics, but I, as a human, understand fear. It doesn't matter where I go, what culture I go, the one I think I always see is the oppression of the poor people.”

Karl Amador entered: “Apologies for being late, gentlemen.”

Ed Myre: “Quite fine.”

Ed Myre looks to Justin: “Please do proceed.”

Justin d'Épression: “I will not ask you to stop earning your money, nor to give all the power, but to think of us, the poor people when you make your decisions.”

Justin d'Épression: “Because in the end, we are the ones that suffer the most, and we are the ones who give the most.”

Ed Myre: “Hear, Hear!”

Amadeus d'Aryn: “Hear, hear.”

Conrad Barclay: “Hear, hear!”

John Everard Pruvia smiles and claps politely.

Konrad: “Aye!”

Laurence August Pruvia: “Hear, hear.”

Siguine var Ruthern: “Da.”

Karl Amador: “Hear, hear!”

Alaric DeNurem: “Hear, hear!”

Justin d'Épression: “Thank you”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “Hear, hear!”

Farooq Gray raises a hand.

Ed Myre acknowledges Farooq.

Farooq Gray: “Thank you. For those of you that do not know me I am Farooq Gray, a descendant of Count Theodore of Cleves, Archchancellor to Peter II. Yet, I come today as an owner of a small ore company. I believe this party must focus on protecting small companies like mine, ones that do not bring me great wealth, but one that employs a small handful of local men, and provides just enough marks so that men like me may feed and house our families. That is all I have to say, thank you.”

Laurence August Pruvia nods, “Hear, hear!”

Ed Myre: “Hear, Hear!”

Conrad Barclay: “Hear, hear!”

Amadeus d'Aryn: “Hear, hear!”

Alaric DeNurem: “Hear, hear!”

Ed Myre: “I now call on the Chair to hold the formal vote on the matters discussed.”

John Everard Pruvia: “In summation. Let us vote on the policies we discussed. We believe in God's Providence giving the Emperor his right to rule, and we are elected at his pleasure. We believe in protection of the small business owner such as Mister Gray against the monopolizing burghers such as the Carringtons. We fight to preserve the Church's power and rights in regards to the state. We believe in the preservation of our rights as both aristocrats and common men. And as Mister Myre said, strengthening, growing and supporting our military might. What say you, gentlemen and lords of the Everardine Party?”

John Everard Pruvia: “All in favor of these founding ideals, say Aye.”

[There is silence]

John Everard Pruvia: “Well motion passed. Unanimously. Before we move on to electing party seats. We will be voting on the elections of our regional party vice-chairs. Namely. Vice-Chair of Helena. Vice-Chair of Haense and Vice-Chair of Kaedrin. We will begin with the Vice-Chair of Helena. Who wishes to run?”

Karl Amador: “Chairman? May I make a nomination?”

John Everard Pruvia: “Feel free.”

Karl Amador: “I would suggest your kinsman, Philip Louis.”

Karl Amador: “He did quite well in the Mayoral elections, proving himself to be popular amongst our voting base in the army and anti-carrington faction.”

John Everard Pruvia: “I do believe my brother would make a fine Helena Vice-Chair. All in favor?”

Ed Myre: “Aye.”

Father Erasmus: “Aye.”

Sigmar Baruch: “I’ve a nomination to make for this one.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Lord Baruch, go ahead.”

Sigmar Baruch: “I nominate Lord Ruthern fer Vice Chair, I believe he has what it takes.”

Siguine var Ruthern nods toward Sigmar, “I'm honored Lord Baruch.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Lord Amador you may speak.”

Karl Amador: “In the past Senatorial Election here in Haense, I came out in a tie against incumbent Senator Stafyr, proving to have a large and active political backing. I do niet care about taking the position for myself, but I think this is something we should take into consideration. Either by using my backing for Vice-Chair or by using it to support Lord Ruthern.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Are you nominating yourself Lord Amador?”

Karl Amador: “I suppose so, simply to offer up a choice rather than us all agreeing with Lord Ruthern here, who I am content with too.”

Siguine var Ruthern: “Well, believe we both have experience. During my Senate election I won a majority of voters over the Kovachev candidate.”

John Everard Pruvia: “All in favor of Ruthern say Ruthern, all in favor of Amador say Amador.”

Konrad: “Ruthern.”

Amadeus d'Aryn: “Ruthern.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Now onto the Vice-Chair of Kaedrin.”

Urrigon Drumm pounds the table for attention in the corner “I nominate the Pruvian, Laurence August.”

John Everard Pruvia: “Party Secretary. I nominate Ed Myre.”

Conrad Barclay: “I second.”

Ed Myre: “Oh… my dear Chairman…. I can not accept. You humble me.”

Ed Myre: “I support such a measure.”

Laurence August Pruvia: “Aye, I support.”

Lajos Sándor Károly: “I second.”

Karl Amador: “I third.”

Father Erasmus: “I fourth.”

Amadeus d'Aryn: “I fifth.”

Conrad Barclay: “Seems we all agree.”
