Return of Clan Eiriksson

[!] It was a clear, calm night when the two clans of Eirksson and Freysson met around the Ashtree of Morsgrad. Although they were all kin under Thoromir, most had never met each other before, and for a while cheers were made and greetings were exchanged- a happy occasion for the men who had not seen family in many years, or even decades. As the hour grew late, and the tankards drew empty, the men took to the Eiriksson homestead to discuss the future of their respective clans. Arguments were had, fists were flown, and decisions were made, but as their discussion drew to a close the men involved were now in agreement.

By disgrace were we casted down; by flames were our sins erased.

The Return of the Eirikssons

A missive from the Clan Eiriksson

King Javier “The Undefeated” Eiriksson

For years did we sons of Eirik wander, our path darkened as we strayed further from the light of the Father. It was not pride which blinded us, nor ignorance, but the weight of tale and history itself. A dozen times we have seen Norland arise from naught, a dozen times we have seen our king and kinsmen fall. Loyal as we may have been, habit gives rise to complacency- the greatest stain on any people. The doom forewarned by Arthas wrought destruction before our very eyes; the flames, where we once saw vigor and warmth, spilled from our braziers and set our cities alight.

Too long have we contemplated the past, for such thought sows the seeds of doubt, doubt that there could ever be change. Once we bit our tongues as Norland arose, no matter the shape it took, but now we must rejoice that we may reunite with our kinsmen and people once again, for our duty to the Nordish people comes not from the crowns we once wore, but the idea that we may one day find peace again. So long as that dream is yet to be in our grasp, we will continue to serve Norland, its king, but most importantly, its people. Loyal bannermen we may be, but Eirikssons know firsthand what it means to live under a tyrant- a man who has no place ruling our kingdom, a man who seeks to gain from the misery of those he rules over.

Now that Caedric Edvardsson rules as king, such cynical thoughts are left to the wayside. In him is not the spirit of a man blinded by bloodlost, not the spirit of a man filled with greed, but a spirit guided by a vision of a greater Norland. In the past, our leaders were warriors first and kings second- men who sought war because they could avoid the cost of it. Most recently, the Rubern War has shown the disaster that may befall us should we choose to meddle in the affairs of the outside world. Unconsumed by these vanities, Caedric has the strength to defend our people and lands if need be, but he knows that there is a better way, one that does not bring the plague of war and despair upon us. It is because of such that we now choose to follow him.

Our lives for our people, our blades for our king.

King Torsten “The Pretender” Rosik

The Clan of Rosik split from the Eiriksson during the days of Nordengrad, followed suit by the Clan of Rorik. Since then, the Rosik line has been tainted by traitors, kinslayers, and the vilest of sinners. By their hand Norland has met its downfall twice, by their hand a countless many of their own kinsmen have perished. Remember ye, it was King Torsten’s rashness and hunger for war, he fought an unwinnable war against the might of Atlas itself! From this devil’s loins came Vladimyr, a man whose heart was even blacker, for it was he who murdered High Keeper Aeyn and slew King Edvard. Such a dark legacy abandons not only our tenants but the Father himself- no longer will it have any place among the bloodlines of the Rurikid.

Haakon Rosik, the current patriarch of Clan Rosik, recognizes the evils committed by his ancestors and agrees to the following terms:

I - From the signing of this agreement, the Clan Rosik shall be officially dissolved. All claims they hold to the Kingdom of Norland and all associated lands, titles, etc, will be declared null and void.

II - All surviving members of House Rosik will take the name Eiriksson once again, reuniting the two branches.

III - In order to prove himself a man born anew, and avoid confusion as a result of sharing the same name as his chieftain, Haakon Rosik will change his name to Jorvik Rosik Eiriksson.

Signed,

Hakon Eiriksson, Chieftain of Eiriksson

Jorvik Rosik Eiriksson
