d’Aryn vs. Elendil Debate Results - 1769

With the conclusion of the recent Josephite vs. Everardine debate, the Josephite party would like to review the results of the debate. Though both Mr. d’Aryn and Mr. Elendil made good points, Unchained has released the poll results of 20 debate attendees to reveal the victor of the debate. 60% of these attendees voted for Mr. Elendil.

During his debate, Mr. d’Aryn attacked Mr. Elendil on his supposed lack of military service, while in fact, Elendil had fought in the ISA while d’Aryn himself spent his time in Helena, losing Senatorial elections, garnering in a measly 6% of votes. In addition, d’Aryn had disrespected an ISA veteran and long serving-statesman, Cyrus Basrid. These displays have proved Mr. d’Aryn to show little respect towards our men who sacrifice their lives daily to protect us.

As the debate continued, d’Aryn’s lack of knowledge on economics became apparent, the Minority Leader seemingly misunderstanding basic economic concepts, such as inflation and deflation. For a man who advocates so much for economic advancements, it is shameful to see how little he truly understands about the topic.

Finally, during the Q+A section of the debate, Mr. Amador had asked both debaters to mention a positive aspect of their opponent. While Mr. Elendil referred to Mr. d’Aryn as his “friend,” practically all Mr. d’Aryn was able to come up with was “he is much taller than me”. While the Josephite party attempts to work with our opponents to create a better Empire, the Everardines clearly hold little to no respect for their adversaries, a dishonorable trait.

For these reasons, along with the vote, the Josephites would like to claim victory for the recent Josephite vs. Everardine debate.

“Lies, lies, and damned lies – all the Josephites are able to come up with. The only remark about Elendil’s ISA service that d’Aryn made was to point out that the ISA is a state-employer, in response to Elendil’s opposition to the government providing employment.

d’Aryn also did not address Mr. Basrid at all. That’s another lie.

Claiming d’Aryn misunderstood the concept of inflation when Stalistena and hers truly don’t realise that multiple things can inflate simultaneously is hopefully just an idiotic mistake, but perhaps yet another lie.

And to top off the trilogy of certain lies, and perhaps the tetralogy of lies, the author falsely claims that all d’Aryn said to compliment Elendil was to remark on his stature. Blatantly disregarding any semblance of truth, the author completely ignores that d’Aryn had previously complimented Elendil on his campaign and the way he ran it. But how can we expect the Josephites to ever accurately portray reality?”

Conrad finishes his rant.

Sigmar Baruch shakes his head at the sad attempt to drag the Honorable Mister Mister d’Aryn through the mud. “Ah though’ this was supposed to be abou’ parties, instead it seems the Josephites platform is speadin’ false information an’ demonizin’ their fellow Orenian, real classy.”

“Mr Elendil quit the ISA after his first battle and less than a full year of service, He claims to be a veteran and a war hero he is not. Mr D’Aryn does not claim to be a war hero miss, that is the FLAW in the logic you explain here and I respond unbiased and nonpartisan, what Mr Elendil is doing is WRONG.”

A Josephite spokesman says flatly. “He fought under Richard Horen during the War of the Two Emperors, and then enlisted in the ISA when he returned to Arcas. He left the army because the law states he cannot serve in the army and be in the government at the same time. Jonah follows the letter of the law, unlike some people.
