To my friends and family in Brandybrook,

I have reached the end of my Adventurers. And, I can only hope I went out in a way that was meaningful, and not from drinkin' too much in the Tavern.

I hope tha' I have 'elped tha' weefolk of Brandybrook discover the spirit of Adventure tha' lies within' all of us. A 'ave always tried ta show tha' worl' tha' weefolk 'ave jus' as much spirit as them Bigguns do. I made maneh mistakes in My life...many tha' I regret. But, life is full o' sorrows an' regrets. Forgive otha's. Forgive yerself. Life is like tha' dinkle river...if ya try ta fight tha' current, you'll jus' take longer gettin' ta where ya need to be.

There is too maneh folks ah 'ave met in me life tha' ah owe so, so much ta. That shoul' be gifts in tha' mail fer tha' las' o me kin and those closes' to me 'eart.

Remember, nah everythin' worth doin' in life is painless. Life can be 'ard. But, by Arugula, ya can see it through.

Take care.

Chemi has a drink to Deek’s life, the best damn captain she’d ever had the pleasure of sailing under... Oh, and likely the smallest.

Lang-Baolei would shed a tear upon reading this missive, “Baolei will always remember our few sea adventure.” he would say wiping his tear away with a frown.

Jago sat down and frown to see the letter

“so long, meh friend, wha’ a journey we had...”

he held his crucifix and murmured a prayer for Deek

Burt wept in the arms of his caretaker, Taal, after hearing the news of his uncle's passing.

He took a walk down the Dinkle River, to where it met the ocean. He thought about all the stories that Deek told him. Stories of amazing adventures with his father and Deek fighting monsters and sailing the seas on the Spicy Shrimp.

He took solace in knowing that Deek had a (mostly) good life, but wished that he could have heard just one more story from the Old'un.

As he walked the area on the beach where the grass meets the sand, he saw a lone white lily. He picked it, and held it up to look at it.

A strong gust of ocean wind blew, and Burt looked down to the flower in his hand, and back out to the water. He walked to the edge of the water, and let go of the flower, allowing the wind to pick it up and towards the ocean.

A few tears streamed down his face, but the boy smiled.

"Goodbye, uncle Deek…"

The wind blew through his hair and he looked on for a moment, before turning to head back home.

”Knox dammit!” Shouted Pel, reacting increasingly more with anger than sadness to the recent deaths. He was beginning to fear he’d outlive all his friends as he went to drown his sorrows once again.

“Wise words Deek,” Sighed out Micah, as he sat, fishing on the docks in spirit of the deceased sailor, “So long ol’ friend. May we meet again.”

“God Damnit, just one after ‘te fawkin oter’ innit!” Sean flipped the table, sobbing in the floor as he held his bird close to his heart, “Oill miss ye Deek.”
