On the Declaration of Passion

Write av Initiate Tavish Faretto

This text is smaller than the last.

Of anyone claiming who or what else I am, I claim here before the Father, the Paragons and anyone who deign to listen that I am a man before anything and everything else and I will say that before any god, king or emperor who thinks themselves higher. I live, I laugh, I love, I hate, and I kill them same as anyone else within our bloodline who hasn’t been diluted too much by cowardice and enigmatic predispositions to claim the same. My difference, first and foremost, is that I will always own every action I take. Indeed, even higher ranked priests and warriors than I will scramble to say that what they did was the mere work of their deities working through them ivcariously as if they were not free-willed men but lowly beasts doomed to do their owner’s bidding. The truth of the Father, as well as the truth of the Canon if I may be so bold as to add, is to give Men the free will to walk along the treacherous path, unbridled by artificial blessings and aid to guide them; but of their own conscious and belief; that they may find their eternal rest upon a bed of their choosing and with a method that was not decided for them, but by them.

It is with these notions in mind that I remind my fellow members of the Red Faith and of the members of the Father’s clergy: You are not special, nor are you important. You are a tool, and a vessel. You are to be used justly until you are broken and replaced. You do not need to worship and admire the influence the voidals, Druii, and Clerics of the gods to make yourself a formidable foe. No, instead I implore and DEMAND of you to simply believe in YOURSELF.

You are a worthy vessel of the Father’s love and of his flame- passion made physical that exists to be ignited in anyone. Live every day as if it were you last! Laugh as if it were the last thing to laugh at! Love as if it were the last time you’d hold him/her in your arms again! Make your mark on history as if it were now or never! Then, and only then, can you claim this declaration of the Father’s love! Only then can you say you walk in his light of chaos and stasis

is – his belief of “Let come what may” and his dogma of not only endurance, but flourish, under the face of certain annihilation and desecration!

High Keeper Alisa read over her son’s work as she came across it, presumably nailed to her bedroom door or by some other inefficient-yet-showy means of delivery. She blinked slowly as she read over it. “Yeah, that sounds like Tavish.” Giving a little nod, she folded her copy and tucked it away with her collection of items, notes and drawings given to her by her children.

A foreign scholar studied the missive with interest “I believe in the God, and its terrifying misery. And yet here I see a most interesting facet of faith; to pray not to divinity in its unimaginable complexity, but to ones self; to the complex machinations of the soul, mind, and ego. Whether this is a remarkable feat, or a damnable act, remains to be seen.” He blessed himself, murmuring, and tucked the parchment within a tome.

Through one way or another, a courier brings a letter in response to the Initiate who authored the Declaration of Passion.

RESPONSE OF THE HIGH PROPHET

I would lie to say that I do not find wisdom in these words. The faith of the Brathmordakin has a similar doctrine, that honor is not done through singing high praise by psalm or prayer, but that honor is earned by action, by works. Where I believe perhaps a dwed philosophy would differ from your own, and a discussion I would enjoy to hold in person some date, is whether it is virtuous or not to claim total ownership of your actions. The dwedmar would say not, we dare not deny gratitude to the seven sacred hosts of Khaz’A’Dentrumm and their influence. They are our inspiration, they are the very forces by which we are able to do our works. To deny them gratitude is no feat of wisdom, but one of dishonor. I wonder, however, how the Red Faith feels on this.

It has always been my interest to open discussions with those of other faiths. Not to indoctrinate or argue superiority. Of course both parties would not dare Cede any ground on such, surely any teaching authority believes what they teach to be the supreme truth. However even if there is a supreme, universal truth, that does not mean enforcing it upon all cultures would be best for Yemekar’s Design. Regardless, I shall make an effort to personally invite the Keepers to the next festival hosted in da Khaz’ur’Kirakmar. I’d enjoy to see the interpretations held by another culture on worldly issues, and as well continue a discussion on the nature of deific inspiration in mortal works.

Tilly would read over the missive with a raised eyebrow, and rolled her eyes as she tossed it into the fire. ”Typical youth, he thinks himself enlightened and believes he knows the hearts and minds of others better than they know themselves.” Tilly muttered, shaking her head as she carried on with her work.
