Henry Penton spoke to the assembly in the La Fleur Theatre in Providence, saying, "As this social season draws to a close, I feel it appropriate to offer a song in the same thread as this season: The hope of finding your soulmate. For which the confines and tragedies of mortal life cannot extinguish the flame of love." He would pause for a moment, letting it hang in the air. "May you all find your own golden rose."

He would then turn, attend to the piano, and exude a beautiful song that spoke of loss but unconquerable love.

LYRICS:

Soft dew on the ground rests on my weary eyes
Soft dew on my cheek as I make my goodbyes
Sweet lady, dear lady, you offered me love
Sweet lady of summer, a gift from above

Find thee in the gardens, if I find thee at all
I wait for the day until I have been called

Our nights not forgotten. Our time has drawn closed.
Although I may seem to you truly composed
My feelings of grief I shall never disclose

I remember the times we had ran through the fields
There in the wheat, your true feelings revealed
Youthful bliss and pure love had we truly found
I built us a house upon our marriage ground

Find thee in thine veil, if I find thee at all
I wait for the day until I have been called

Our nights not forgotten. Our time has drawn closed
Although I may seem to you truly composed
My feelings of grief I shall never disclose

Our firstborn was a daughter, then came three sons
All lost in battles of disease they should have won
We sat in our halls, left quiet and still
I went out that evening to pick daffodils

I found you on the floor, far beyond the help of all
I wait for the day until I have been called

Our nights not forgotten. Our time has drawn closed
Although I may seem to you truly composed
My feelings of grief I shall never disclose

Now old and alone, I sit bitter and chilled
Sweet would be death, for you I am thrilled
Holy God up above if you listen to prayers
Take me to the sky, so my eyes can meet theirs

Find thee in the skies, if I find thee at all
I wait for the day until I have been called

Our nights not forgotten. Our time has drawn closed
Although I may seem to you truly composed
My feelings of grief I shall never disclose

Although I may seem to you truly composed
I now stand united with my golden rose

When he finished, the crowd applauded, but the notes rung in Henry's ears for several minutes after. For he had found his Golden Rose, but she was soon to part from him.

Additionally, I do not own the melody or piano track this song was performed over. The lyrics and arrangement are original, but all credit to the Longest Johns for the melody and thepianokid for his rendition of the track.

(Pretty) Princess Helen Antonia's clapping at the talent show was the greatest for Henry Penton. She tells her fat courier, Tobias, to ask Anna to invite him to their next tea session.

Anthony Bentarus clutched his copy of Natural Wealth close as Henry debuted the gorgeous original song. Even he, a youth who had never yet fallen in love, was moved to tears by the beautiful melody and lyrics.
