The Destruction of Kramoroe

You notice a charred book lying on the kings road, the leather around it is burned badly: but the pages are legible. You also notice a trail of dried blood leading into the forest that stops suddenly.

Oren had the nerve to "steal" our city from Malinor, then leaves us forsaken on the front-lines of the Undead's assault. The issue was not even new! I had been to Oren on diplomatic duties at least eight times in the past year; attempting to acquire (at the very least) a few guards to patrol the King's road. What did we get? Not a bloody thing. Bandits were using our city as a staging ground for more intricate heists and the Undead walked our streets like a bunch of Wood Elf teenagers for Aeriel's sake! Our allegiance to Oren is now severed. Permanently.

When I saw the Undead hordes from the top of my tower, I did not feel grief. I had already wept for the cities obvious fate. No, my heart and mind were burning with rage; the knowledge that this attack was coming and Oren did not care. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me down the cold library stairs and burst out of the doors screaming, "They are here! Save the council!"

To my amazement the rest of the Council heard me, but did not run. The five of us had built Kramoroe up from a small wooden inn into the bustling desert city we know so well and we intended to fight off the invaders with every inch of our being. The rain began to pour down around us and bolts of lightning struck the sea. Suddenly the Dark Queen herself appeared standing on the roof of the Vanguard fortress; tossing balls of fire and lightning at our home.

The battle lasted throughout the night. When the Dark Queen finally retreated it was too late, Kramoroe was a smoking ruin. The buildings that were lucky enough to survive were shaken off their sandy foundations and are collapsing as I write this. The library miraculously survived without a scratch, but with the rocking of it's foundation and it's immense height it is only a matter of time until it collapses as well.

As we were walking along the burning road we decided we would build a camp west of the Cloud temple. Our shopkeeper, Levant, managed to save the majority of his wares so we will attempt to make a living in the forest for now. I also managed to take copies of the top three sections of the library; the rest are still inside the tower and are too risky to obtain.

Perhaps this new life will be a welcoming change, I can onl-

The last letter drags across the entire page. The page itself is barely attached to the book.

[Hmf... Didn't come to me to complain about the lack of patrols, and now the Rangers should hopefully be doing that now anyway...]

[Every single godforsaken guard I talked to told me that they would tell YOU about the situation. Our town being in ruins is nothing compared to the fact that it was shuffled into someones unimportant paperwork. Do I even need to mention how common the knowledge is that this was going to happen? You would have to be utterly oblivious or a fool to not realize Kramoroe needed aid.]

[No, everyone's chests haven't been touched so yours should still be there. Unless yours was the one that got hit by that stray fireball and exploded...]
