TO THE WOMAN WHOM I NEVER TRULY MET,

Your sacrifices for our Empire – Our Kingdom, have not gone without notice. You and I were both of Orenian stock, cut from the same cloth, born to well-bred families, raised in the halls of the Aster court before chaos had erupted in them. We were not so different. We were, however, different in the ways that mattered. Royalist and Imperialist, a faithful woman, and an unfaithful one. A woman who commits herself to a man who already has commitments is not a faithful woman, she is a deceitful snake. And that is how I felt when he was stolen from me.

Thieves often come dressed in shrouds of darkness, but when you appeared before us on the Court, your soul was the only thing that appeared darkened. Your eyes set upon he whom I loved. Your words like daggers, piercing through what happiness I had gained. Though the Prince eventually failed me in all things, the final nail in the coffin so to speak, lest you consider such a phrase inappropriate after recent events… Yet the first nail. . . The first wrong that was provided to me. It was you. You strode up to me, confident, eyes cast forward, as if there was no room for doubt to your words. You said that you belonged in my place. The place that I had worked hard to gain. A place that fit my very soul.

There is a saying in the Northern lands. A poem, that I feel is quite appropriate for such an occasion:

“A lover’s place is by their side,

When they confess, does God abide.

To hold their faith, their oaths, their vows,

To trust no others, to extend their boughs.

When true love holds, when partners find,

Do not give spite, leave greed behind.

Beware these crimes, for lovers scorned,

Will leave behind your corpse unmourned.”

This certain ire burned within me for many years, and it needed to be smothered out. Upon the ceasing of the first and final battle for New Providence, King Frederick I entreated me with the honour, the satisfaction, of firing an arrow into Lucia Annunziata’s head. And I held no remorse.

I do not regret the murdering of my peer, and I most likely never will. I write this to confess my wrongdoings and to inform any of those concerned that I will be rebaptized at a moment’s notice, as per the Archchancellor’s demands, to cleanse myself of this sin.

SIGNED,

An appeased woman, Ioanna Elisheva of Susa

"May GOD guide her onto a righteous path." Vivienne Anastasie simply commented, hoisting herself to a standing position as she finished her daily prayers.

Sophie Pruvia, a woman who had thought herself of the most rebellious and rambunctious of courtiers at the Aster Court stood in shock as the false Empress was shot down only meters away from where she stood. The Pruvian froze in place, unable to react as her two successors in the race for the former Prince of Providence's hand crumbled before one another. For once she couldn't formulate a single thought, or a single word- she was only silence as the Empyre fell and the Kingdom of Oren rose to its rightful place.
