Departed_Delmar 1302 Share Posted June 6, 2022 Spoiler Aurelion Marsyrs desk, a book open, regarding the adunians and those that have fallen. Aurelion would look down at the crown that rested next to his open book, he currently sat, alone in the office that his father had once called his own. The events of the day rushing fresh into his mind, a hand going to where one of the creatures had slashed into him earlier that day. Yet still, never once, did his gaze ever truly leave that crown of anorum and titans eye. The emblazoned symbol of Malchediael, shining with the brightness of a star, usually a sign of hope for those of mundane origin. Yet for him, it was different, it could even be considered monstrous. For he did not see the shining star of the Angul of Courage, no, instead he saw the wicked star of an Angul of Arrogance. What usually one would see as a blessing, he saw nothing more then a curse. For it was not courage that guided man, but fear, fear of what was to come. What will be, in those dark and cold nights, fear of endless rolling shadows that spanned across clouded hills and forests. "Rohir could take it, or Uthyr, I could leave this place. I could continue as wanderer, as bowie, as faceless." Yet, here he sat, blue-gray gaze upon that crown on the table. He had no want to rule, no desire to puppet over others, nor did he wish for riches. So what was it, that drew him to gaze, into that stone of deep rich blue. Into that cold, and cruelly made, star of an Angul who cared not for it's worshippers. Then it became clear, as the lake that resided just outside of their home. Of the river that flowed through the northern lands of Almaris, the realization rushed through. He, simply put, was bound by honor. Honor to fulfill the wishes of his Ancestors, the honor of fulfilling his duty his father had set out to do. An honor that was born, long, before he was even a speck of thought. One that was passed, from father to son, as blade might be passed down through a family. But why did he care, he had never been one to care for honor, for his only oath that required truth to him. Was his oath to GOD, his oath, to that calming dark flame that guided his path. Yet, as he sat there, he could not help but look into that crown. That ring of crystal, a metal so sacred, the old adunians of yore had once dubbed it 'Eldar Steel'. "You shall follow the path, that which shows respects to your ancestors. That which is guided by the Eldar Flame, and thus GOD." He repeated the words, one of the very first lessons he had been given in his youth. Something he still kept true to this very day, and something he would perhaps keep true, until the very end of his days. With a heavy sigh, he would gently lift the circlet. Turning and making his way to the bar, he would rest it upon the inside of a shelf, keeping the cabinet locked. Once he did that, he would look back towards the desk. What could only be sensed, to be a sigh of defeat, escaping past his lips. Not of a man who intended to leave, and abandon his people, but instead of a man whose next journey was in fact to do the opposite. Of no one, manifesting and becoming, Aurelion Marsyr once more. "Three Wildwynn days" He muttered under his breath, annoyance evident as he spoke once more. "I wait, three Wildwynn days. If he does not show up, then I shall send bird to find someone to forge me a new crown. So that I may begin, my sacred duty." With that, the young Marsyr left the office, ascending the steps of the aged keep. Door's creaked open, and a fully made bed with blue linen was revealed to him. Pelts adorning the top of the noble bed. With sleep and lethargy filling his body, and with a heavy mind now knowing what he would have to do, the Marsyr would tumble on top of it. His mind quickly, succumbing to the darkness that was sleep. His dreams plagued, with that horrid city of the south, Kivdrona. OOC NOTES Yo, just writing some cool character rp, not something that will be public knowledge in the slightest. But, I do intend to start writing forum posts for these types of encounters. Most certainly, they will act as pivotal shifts/stories for the character of Aurelion Marsyr. Anyway, hope you enjoy the read, and let me know what you think.
