IN THE INTERESTS OF PEACE AND AMITY,

Is an Agreement to Non-Aggression between the King of Oren Frederick I and the Grand Duke of Balian, John I, to ensure a permanent relationship exists in perpetuity. Recognized by each is the mutual understanding that despite separation by land and sea, no closer ties exist. The Kingdom of Oren and the Grand Duchy of Balian are brothers, connected by shared history and foundation. Hereafter are the feuds of the past reconciled so that no Son of Man shall quarrel betwixt one another ever again. 

 

In the interests of achieving that ideal, do these two states recognize the sanctity of certain clauses which shall remain inviolate, innocent in intent, and enforceable under law for a duration of twenty years.

 

ARTICLE I

Each party shall respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the other - there shall be no meddling in state affairs, no claims made in the interest of expansion. Moreover, no claim motivated through heritage shall be made or pursued upon territories of either signatory.

 

ARTICLE II

Each party shall henceforth be determined to resolve differences and disputes that may arise through dialogue and conciliation methods. Peaceable means which shall avert conflict amidst climates unsuited to such - that violence never be considered and Drums of War never beaten. Such acts of violence should be considered as the following:

 

- Attacks by Land or Sea,

- The rallying of Manpower concentrated on the borders of either signatory,

- Sabotage for Political or Military gain,

- Assisting the enemies of either signatory in violating the integrity or sovereignty of the other.

 

ARTICLE III 

Each party shall agree to a prohibition on public or privately sanctioned propaganda with respect to each other. Such actions are recognized as a prelude to War. And open conflict cannot be tolerated under the conditions of this agreement. This prohibition shall also extend to statements that advocate for the perpetuation of civil conflicts.

 

ARTICLE IV

Consequently, each party hereby declares that there are no outstanding obligations that shall conflict with this agreement's treatise.

 

ARTICLE V

That each party shall, in effect, enforce and interpret the conditions of this agreement within the boundaries of good faith, that neither signatory shall assume the hostility of the other nor act rashly without diplomatic correspondence or well-tried negotiation.
