First Agenda of the Rhun

The Temple of the Worldmaker was bustling with a feast of dwarves, rejoicing in the glories of past accomplishments and of the promise of those to come. An elder dwarf stood at the podium before them, leaning over it with a blood-stained starmetal hammer. For over a century he had been planning for a moment, one that had finally arrived. He smiled the Stone’s Smile, and began a speech.

Spoiler

“Paragon Urguan Silverbeard, Ka’az eron khron-khazadmar nar ein’a eron kav-kirkjamar, met with the grand hallowed host of Khaz’A’Dentrumm at the young years of time and was taught the marvels of Yemekar’s design, the Rhun

The divine design that gave form and purpose to Creation, which denotes the meanings of our souls and the souls of all things living, passed and mundane. He taught this to our ancestors, and it has since passed down to us, my kindred sons and daughters of Urguan.

We are called to live the experience of the Rhun, such was Urguan’s foremost teaching. We are to worship our gods and ancestors not through the prayer or songs of a human church but through the proud labor and service of working with our hands. A priest is no good if he does no labor, nor is any zealous dwarf. Work shall set our souls free.

This teaching has no place for bureaucracy or politics. The hierarchy of the clergy exists as a method of ensuring the traditions are honored and not tarnished by radical youth, but otherwise its structure does nothing to incentivize honoring the gods. Newbeards are only taught by the eagerness and ambition of a few priests, and beyond that they are not given paths of service to the seven.

Da Kirkja Dverga goes back to the age of Silverbeard kings, bearing their sacred banners that many now forget the true meaning of. The proud gray, aqua and ruby red of the clergy means little now that it has lost its sacred magics and holds no ability to encourage service. It is guilds such as Yemekar’s Workforce that are the bastion of dwarven culture.

To that end, I make this declaration. Da Kirkja Dverga is hereby defunct. All rights and responsibilities of the clergy are resigned to its enduring prophet, who shall take on the title of Rhun Prophet and be charged with commanding the culture of Urguan through Yemekar’s Workforce.

Those priests and initiates of da Kirkja Dverga who are truly inspired with the passion and ambition for godliness shall endeavor to join the Rhun Prophet in using the workforce as a means of serving the seven, and establish cults within its ranks for the proper honor of gods through celebration, feats and rites, as well the education of newbeards.

Let the lackluster order of old be forgotten, and a new order dedicated to supreme craftsmanship and actively enacting the traditions of Urguan be born. For it is through the dedication and labors of the dwedmar that we shall forge a future far greater than Grand, and Urguan’s Folk shall once more earn the gifts of Khaz’A’Dentrumm and adorn the colors of old.

Dwedmar, you may go home.”

And with that, Norli Starbreaker had dissolved the institution which had originally granted him station, and looked onward to the feats of Supreme Craftsmanship that the dwarves would do together for the Glory of Yemekar.

FIRST AGENDA OF THE RHUN

It has always been through the actions of guilds that the gods are most honored. Armakak was never honored better by a priest than he was by successful merchants, nor Yemekar honored by sermons as much as he is by feats of supreme craftsmanship. It is for reasons such as these that by declaration of the Rhun Prophet, da Kirkja Dverga is officially dissolved. All priests blessed with divine inspiration shall be brought into the Workforce to begin cults dedicated to the worship and rites of the gods alongside the activities of the Workforce.

But the Workforce shall only thrive in its dedication to the Rhun with organization, so this agenda has been made to coordinate announcements and upcoming activities of Yemekar’s Workforce.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Late High Prospector Balor Ireheart has passed, and his replacement Guild Lord shall be Thor’nir Frostbeard, a newbeard with a passion and skill for mining. With this appointment, expect greater level of communication with miners, something Overseers noted was an issue in the past. A feast shall be held in Balor’s name in the coming years.

Ulfar Starbreaker has returned from his expeditions abroad and will be taking the mantle of Forge Lord of the White Anvil once more, leading the metalworkers in their efforts of craftsmanship. With his return, we shall be re-introducing the chapters of forging within the ranks of the metalworkers, a framework for teaching the many materials to aspiring metalworkers. Metalworkers will also be allowed to design what they wish for 10 minas so long as it is of quality, though commissions will still be available for higher pay.

With wars both mortal and divine raging across the realm, the Workforce Overseers concern themselves with the protection of our creations blessed by Yemekar. Khubuc Irongrinder has perceived the opportunity for a cohort to be created for members of the Workforce who fight not for the death and glory of Dungrimm but for the enduring love of their creations. These craftsfolk fighters shall be dedicated to Yemekar, and optional for all workers to join for not just legion pay while under command of a like-minded legate, but additional pay from the Workforce for their participation. The Rhun Guard shall be made for this purpose, and workers should anticipate more announcements on this topic.

With the great success of the war machine Yemekar’s Absolution, its head designer Kazadren Starbreaker will be leading efforts as a High Overseer with an engineering company within the Workforce. Through his leadership, we shall seek to create many machines for the purposes of the guilds’ many projects.

PROJECTS

The Threat of Azdromoth: The Dragon King continues his war against the Brathmordakin in honor of Khorvad, and remains a primary enemy of Urguan’s Folk. His soldier Cloudbreaker has broken the Gates of Balek leading to Kal’Darakaan, and must be prepared to slay upon his return. Many activities must be devoted towards the creation of weapons to defeat not just Cloudbreaker but Azdromoth, primarily with the focus of defending Kal’Darakaan upon another attack.

The Underways to the World Heart: The caverns of Urguan’s mountains have gone mostly unsearched and unexplored, and there are few passageways which we are properly informed. It is an urgent effort to explore these underways properly not just to explore unknown territories but to harvest the rare resources within. This will require many expeditions into the underways, as well as the creation of greater mechanical tools to assist in these efforts.

The Hall of Ogradhad: Under the leadership of retired priest Ossic Frostbeard, the library of Urguan has been greatly restored though there is still large efforts left to improve. The Rhun Prophet calls all scholars amongst the workers and their kin to offer their services towards not just donating new books, but authoring archives with dwarven wisdom to share with the world from the library.

ACTIVITIES

16th of The Deep Cold: An alchemical ammunition craft to create cannon shots more capable of felling dragons. Using techniques led by the Rhun Prophet Norli Starbreaker, we shall harness the Rhun within many herbs to enchant runes of the cannon shots that will make them far more devastating, though much assistance will be needed in this.

[OOC: 4:30 PM EST, Tuesday 7/12]

14th of Snow's Maiden: A cave leech hunt led by Garedyn Mossborn, rallying at the capital of Kal'Darakaan before sallying forth to a cavern to kill monsters within that provide a hazard to our prospectors.

[OOC: 2:00 PM EST, Wednesday 7/13]

15th of Malin’s Welcome: A sculpting lesson led by Garedyn Mossborn within the capital of Kal'Darakaan. Workers will learn stonemasonry and how to discern shape from within a block of stone.

[OOC: 4:00 PM EST, Thursday  7/14]

17th of Malin’s Welcome: A preliminary expedition into the deep roads led by Khubuc Irongrinder. Workers shall scout out potential mining spots, as well as any hazards to prepare for in future expeditions. The Legion is explicitly invited to attend, for any dangers that may await.

[OOC: 5:00 PM EST, Thursday  7/14]

14th of The Grand Harvest: A second Rhun Feast at the temple of the Worldmaker to discuss the activities of the week prior and of the week to come, and celebrate the successes of the Workforce. Potential for a craftsmanship project depending on the events of the year preceding.

[OOC: 2:00 PM EST, Saturday 7/16]

NARVAK OZ BRATHMORDAKIN

[OOC: Sorry for delay, I wanted this out on Sunday but got distracted with some other things, even with most of it pre-written up before the weekend. If someone is willing to help me write these and can copy my style/ handly me going back and editing, then I'd appreciate the help! This is the beginning of a format to RPly outline the current events of the Workforce. This will likely be either every week or every other week, depending on how I think it goes this week. I hope this helps keep people informed on RP opportunities through an RP medium, not just asking on discord :) ]
