A DOG IS THE ONLY THING ON EARTH THAT LOVES YOU MORE THAN IT LOVES ITSELF

RP MUSIC: MARLEY & ME

Proclamation Issued by the House de Vilain.

16th of Sigismund’s End, 1895

Addressed to the King Charles of Aaun,

We accept the reparations brought forth by your counselors as a reconciliatory gesture. However, your soldiers are indeed responsible for recent attacks on our freedom, whether you commanded such operations or not. A Pact Sealed guarantees the Barony of Acre its sovereignty, the international community has laid that out bare. We shall not stand for the eviction of our lands. The lands of my father and his father shall not be seized from us. If truly you seek to avoid war and to wholly condemn the acts of your levies who have committed these crimes in our lands, whether to your knowledge or not, turn your host homewards hence and leave us to our own devices in the countryside, as things have been for the better part of fifty-years.

The Barony of Acre bows to no King. If you desire peace, then claim your peace; but it shall not be at the cost of our sovereignty and self-determination. You have this chance to make all things right before God and men. Take this chance and spare yourself the reputation of a warmonger. If you seek to kill us, then we shall be forced to make good on our promises of devastation for your idle flock, those who seek to make claim to land that quite simply doesn’t belong to them.

Signed with a fondness for reconciliation,

Wolfgang de Vilain, Baron of Acre

A blind elf hears of the proceedings, and comments; This is the part where history repeats itself.

Nero von Draco adds more locks to his private kennel as to protect his loyal entourage of Renatian pit-fighting dogs: Caligula, Donald, Nero Jr. and Aurelius. He mourns the Prince Hadrian van Aert's loyal companion, contemplating new punishments and tortures in store for those who are responsible.

A woman cackles as she pens up a shabby little poster beside one of the proclamations. She has no idea what Aunn is, but certainly does enjoy mocking strangers.

Acre loses a hellhound and seethes!

Loran continues to weep for Hadrians best friend, a true Pertinaxi hound.

"Grow a ******* pair, Loran." Donny shook his head in disappointment to the weeping prince, wondering what his late father, Argus von Draco would say to this.

"It must be recognised, Aaun itself is a soverign Canonist nation, and a treaty cannot simply be forced upon them by foreign powers... Aaun seems to have signed no treaty, and Acre are guaranteed nothing. As was predicted, such an attempt by Haense and Balian to interfere with Aaunic internal affairs failed to achieve peace or whatever political aims any of Aaun's fellow Canonist Princes sought." Cardinal Viktor sighs, reading back through several missives "Civil war, it seems, cannot be avoided, and so the Church must intervene to ensure the conflict is as swift and bloodless as possible, and that all those who would interfere and work against the efforts of the Holy Mother Church to do so are condemned and if need be, sanctioned."

After having quite the conversation with the Archduchess of Petra at her wedding, Anne thought of their interaction once she got back to Acre. "Isn't it strange the Church hasn't intervened, yet keep saying they shall, despite the proof of there being darkspawn lurking in Aaun's depths?" She reiterated to Wolfgang, her arm linked in his. "It appears it isn't just ourselves who think so. A self-proclamation of GOD, concealed by Canonists, yet dabble in the very thing we condemned in the origins of the recent crusades. We were there when that undead said himself he was Charles' right hand guard." The woman thought to herself she might have to dig out Ser Flemius' missive again to take a reread.

"It surprises me how the ones who were first persecuting the priests during the pontificate of Everard VI now try to cower behind the Church for their own rebellious purposes in which they are not by accident attacking a sovereign who was acknowledged by the Holy Mother Church and His Holiness Pontian IV. The situation between us and Acreans are much alike to that what Exalted Horen wrote to the Jorenites in the Scroll of Spirit Chapter two, Epistle to the Jorenites, Verse five "But while you preserve the Kingdom of Man, the Kingdom of GOD languishes. It is however an act of heresy to find the idea and presence GOD self-proclaimed and a conceal for us faithful Canonists for the darkness that we once fought in crusades, which seems rather contradictory and almost makes the faith of the Acreans seem like a farce to gain the favor of the Church and certainly puts their loyalty to His Holiness in a very questionable light." The Inquisitor of the Church merely mumbled to himself, clearly worried about the heretical tendencies of the Barony of Acre.
