PREFACE

With the establishment of a permanent Lord Marshal following HRH Sergei Aleksandr’s interim in the office, the Brotherhood of St. Karl is set to undergo a slew of administrative changes – namely to the operation of its high command in the Officer Core. This new Godunov Office sees fit to establish a number of official roles and duties to be occupied by the officers of the BSK, overall allowing for a more thorough, seamless operation. In these trying times, the Crown believes in the utmost importance of strong military leadership to ensure decorum, organization, and deference are maintained by every Brother of St. Karl.

QUARTERMASTER

INTRODUCTION

The first establishment is our quartermaster. Long has this position of utmost importance been empty and this must be remedied. In light of this, Dame Giovanna Bella Barclay has been charged with the maintenance of the armory, including checks of equipment loadouts and assigning quartermaster tasks to subordinate Brothers.

DUTIES OF THE QUARTERMASTER

The duty of the quartermaster is to uphold and maintain the armory to an acceptable standard, ensuring all BSK can obtain the necessary equipment to carry out their duties. Where all soldiers are required to maintain personal kits, the responsibility of the Quartermaster is to ensure the armory is fully stocked, and able to fulfill any orders at a moment’s notice.

TRAINING GROUNDS

INTRODUCTION

Once a soldier has shown their competence, they are permitted to take their oath. Despite quotas and a “lead-up” to a soldier’s oath being in place in the past, as of recently, many have taken their oaths without going through the necessary procedures. The Brotherhood’s Fort Sheffield will now serve as training grounds for both Initiates and Footmen, with oath hunts and ceremonies also being held there.

FORT SHEFFIELD

Fort Sheffield recently cleared from the enlightenment’s occupation, has been turned into training grounds for the next generation of Brotherhood members. Within, a military port and a large open space dedicated to various boot camp training included within the fort itself is at availability. Along with this,  The Marion, a privateer ship captained by Alikos Bayac, is docked there, ready to serve the Crown as needed.

BOOTCAMP

The Bootcamp is the chance for newer soldiers to find their footing and skills within the Brotherhood. Giving initiates the training and foundations that they need to grow and prosper; furthermore, providing footmen with the ability to grow on these stepping stones.

As an initiate, one will be taught the etiquette of the Brotherhood alongside various skills such as basic survival, executing commands and formations alongside many other tasks. As a footman, one will be taught some more specialized skills such as first aid. Initiates and footmen will also be expected to cooperate in joint training. It is with this Bootcamp that the next generations of soldiers will receive the skills and guidance necessary to prosper.

INSPECTION

INTRODUCTION

The Marshal’s office sees fit, given this time of great import, to appoint a Martial Inspector, charged with the oversight of his Excellency's various new ventures. This Inspector will not hold any executive authority as a commanding officer of the Brotherhood and will answer directly to the Lord Marshal. Their main duty is to offer counsel and criticism where needed as well as provide feedback to the Brotherhood's high command regarding the efficacy and performance of the Officer Core.

DUTIES OF THE INSPECTOR

All members of the Brotherhood are soldiers first whether that be on or off duty. All members of the Brotherhood, be that the Lord Marshal or the newest initiate must follow the guidelines laid out in the guidebook that will be given to all members of the Brotherhood new and old. These duties include saluting superior ranks, uniform etiquette, and obeying orders without question.

Failure to meet these basic standards of professionalism will be met with a dock of pay, reduction in rank, or dismissal from the Brotherhood entirely depending on the severity of the infraction.
