For a long 300 years I have been taught that the Void was a malignant force, all consuming, the great enemy. Yet recently I have come across the truth. The void is not the all consuming enemy, but the catalyst of creation, and therefore balance cannot be achieved without it. There cannot be light without dark. Sun without moon. The spirits, as powerful as they may be, have been feeding me, no, us lies. They wish to expand their power, and the other side of the coin then must be slain. Thus they tell us to hunt and kill mages, when in fact, it brings us farther away from true balance. I listened to her, the very enemy we have been taught to kill, the devil. She spoke sweetly and with grace.
