From the Ashes...

I havn't been able to talk to Chrisdena about the organization of the religious, or gold sect, but I believe for now it should work like this.

There are two positions in it, one, a seer or seeress who is directly spoken to by Aeriel, currently that is I. The second is a priest or priestess who translates what Aeriel has spoken of, is the representative for the council, and also in charge of teaching others who wish to learn of Aeriel.

Furthermore, if all of the gold sect members (or a good number of them) believe someone is close enough to Aeriel to join the gold sect, they will be requested.

the religious sect is the Theology profession.

[[i agree with much said above, apart from the Consul idea by Aurea. No one Ascended should have more hold over the Order than any other.]]

Freya looks over the gathering, noting that many more non-Ascended are giving input into the Order than she expected. Perhaps the mortals of Aegis have not completely lost faith... she smiles faintly.

I do like the idea that we initiate a Seer into the Theology sect. That would help us quite a bit.

However, due to the recent magical forces that have been exerted upon Aegis, it has become easier for outsiders to penetrate out realm - both Daemon and Aengul in nature. Whilst this means Undead numbers are likely to increase, it means that Aeriel herself can pass into our realm on a more often basis to give us direct guidance.

Also, another idea we put forward. Every new Ascended will be on a "Un-chosen" status. This means that they have not yet decided or been offered the chance to join the sect. Whilst this means that they cannot gain access to the more advanced training or resources, they are still welcome to be as versatile as such a person without constraints can be.

In order to join a Sect, the Ascended in question has to be veto'd in by the Council or do a noteworthy act of Heroism or Courage for our Order.

Freya looks over at Hiebe, noting his input with a stern nod.

I entirely agree Hiebe. We have gone on far too long with only concentration on Offensive abilities. Now is the time to stand strong and defend the realm against Intruders, not by pursuing down and destroying our foes. This latter tactic has cost a great many of our number in the past. That shall change.

On the topic of Healing methods - before I was a Ascended I was in the Mage's guild. Amongst our number we had a few gifted healers, myself included, although perhaps I was not the most disciplined by far...

She laughs quietly.

I'm pretty sure I can teach any willing Ascended rudimentary healing spells if the situation calls for it. I'm not sure how Aengul blood affects healing ability though. [[it might get rejected by the Dev Team. I'd be happy to have the prison spell replaced by healing though...]]

((The prison spell is very useful. Me and Arcadius were chasing some spy for the Undead once and Arcadius used it to trap him.))

Your right about the having more power than others, but The Consul was actually meant to be someone who holds discipline, the veto is given by the other ascended If Realy nessesary, (To stop an realy stupid law)

[[We could have a Justicaar-type position where the Justicaar may make one appeal per law for the law to be accepted/declined.

So, if (Let's hope it never comes to this) the council is bribed, the Justicaar will still listen to the people and make sensible positions. They must be very trusted amongst the Ascended and have passed several near-impossible trials to ensure that only the purest of souls apply for the position. I don't know. We'll see what other ideas surface.]]

((Having mages and warriors two different lines seems redundant, Ascended warriors are never going to be as good as descendant warriors because they get more damage, the only way Ascended can win battles is by using magic.))

Yes, that was the idea!

[[Praetors only fight with fists. I will campaign if this idea is approved to have their fists unnerfed]]

[[Yes. That is where the idea originated. They were the most honorable and disciplined soldiers to have ever existed, in my opinion.]]

((How about this, I kinda took a page from the Spartans with the ideals and the names but the names are not set in stone obviously since they're spartan names but it seemed to work pretty well for them. And no this does not make us a war nation for using an ancient war nations government type, I have a feeling one of you will bring that up. They had 2 kings 5 Ephors. The Kings could declare a military assault only with the consent of the majority of the Ephors and one king could overrule the other King but if the Ephors voted in favor of overturning the king that overruled the other king then the first king's plan would be set into motion. The Ephors primarily deal with political stuff and diplomacy and maintaining and creating laws and the economy while the kings are more there for moral support and for military action. Essentially the Kings are the military figureheads and the Ephors were political with some aspects of Americas congress in the sense that they had to approve of the military actions of the Kings. I don't know, I kinda reread this but not entirely so if something doesn't make sense to you point it out to me and I'll fix it to be more understandable. I think it might work.))

Renzbro~

EDIT:

I forgot to mention, I TL;DR'ed the last like 10 posts so if someone mentioned something like this before me I didn't read it. Sorry ;D

Top priority is educating the ascended properly. Shoi will start doing a series of classes for all current ascended. Minus Selina and I because we have been through both trials and classes.

There will also be a set of trials for those who never received them. The behavior of some of the new and older ascended has been sub par.

As for the leadership I have temporarily made a two person counsel involving Shoi and Selina that has equal authority to me. I eventually want this changed but for now I need some help and they have both been through trials and classes and received scrolls properly.

As for other ideas keep them coming. We have a long way to go to reorganize but in the end we will be better than ever.

Also once again recruitment is locked until further notice.

Alright. So do we have confirmation on what new Sects we want?

I've decided on;

  • Theology
  • Architecture
  • Scholarship
  • Mercantile
  • Battle; Disciple,Praetor, Battle-mage.

Council will have two members from each sect, to be voted for every In-game year. We have a Justicaar (name to be chosen) who can choose to veto one law per amount of time. We also have a Seer on the council who gives guidance from Aeriel.

Please suggest anything I have missed.

I like the 5 sects. I think 1 from each is better though. With our numbers around 12 or so 10 on the council would be too many chiefs and not enough indians.

I also like the justicar idea. I would like considertaion for that position so I would not have to be the dictator anymore.

Zephyr has already had classes, he is only awaiting trials.
