9.0 Map Concept Leaks

With pre-builds underway, I thought it would be fun to share some of the early development concepts that went into working on LoTC’s next map. The general shape and layout of the map went through countless interrations, tweaks and changes but I’ve compiled a few of the concept images along the way. With any concept there are flaws, and obviously you cannot just make a design and expect it to easily translate into minecraft, but it is wat it is. 

 

These concepts date back to 6-8 months ago so the map has undergone many more revisions and changes during the world painting process, but this is where it started.
