I. PATH OF THE ARCANE: INVITATION

Descendant-kind, I speak widely to you:

 

From the throes of calamity and destruction; of folly, of eternal hubris and generations of failure, within the ruins of the Land of Stars is born a new Path.

 

It is a Path of self-destruction, of paradox. Of embracement of a large evil to defeat little evils, or perhaps to betray that evil; alas.

 

We descendants have no choice but to embrace the Void - ever-within us it is, to be grasped at any moment. A curse, to some. To me.

 

But it is precisely that this curse exists that we must work to combat its effects. That is precisely the Path of the Arcane: it is to achieve the greatest mastery of the Void available to descendants.

 

It is still weak. It is a path of suicide and treachery. There shall be no glory for us, no ending. An eternal-battle shall be fought, forever our bodies and minds toiling for a cause which only prolongs the inevitable.

 

And yet the hands and minds of the insane slave away.
