Recommended Posts

Somewhere nestled within the ashen lands there beheld a set of caves. Far away from lands of Man and Descendants alike. One constructed of twisting corridors, dank and dimly lit.

From within one of the crevices that had been carved amongst the rock, a mass of smoke, soot and ash bellowed outwards.  It was difficult to see from within this side passage, however there sat a single figure upon a set of cushions and fabric. Held within their lap was a drum, to which they began to play, a tempo held steady.

                                                                                                                                                              One…

                                                                                                                                                                                                         Two…

                                                                                                                           Three...

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Four…

The beats created slowly and repetitively droned onwards. If one listened close enough, they might have made it out to be the beating of a mighty heart, powerful and full of a vitality that was almost threatening.

Soon words would be joined in, embers flaking off of the hands that pounded on the drum. Words held with a strange combination of brilliant radiance and low growls. These words were sung, both in offering and in a request. A prayer and a display of dedication.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   PERSVEK - LETNI - ASTAHII - ETHIM!

                                                                                        ASTAHII - VUCOT - JACIDA - JANIK!

                                                                                                                                                                                                            ASTAHII-  RE - PERSVEK - l'GRA!

And so too did this drunken feeling of reverent worship continue for long, with every passing moment the intensity of the strikes grew and so did the presence felt with them. More words arose to meet this crescendo.

                                                                                                          Five…

                                                                                                                                                                         Six….

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Seven…

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Eight….

      AZ - DRO - MOTH! SI - RELGR - EKESS - ASIOTH!
                                                                                                                  EKESS - QE - IR - MRITH - DOUT - DREKIM!

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              SI - KIWIEG - COI - WER - JANIK - DI - INHELK - KAGH - LETNI!

Soon after this proclamation, the Ordained Herald ceased in her vocalization. Instead they allowed the solitary drumming to be all that filled the air still. A chance was given for others to join in with their own prayers and voices to this call that had been made. The sounds were certainly loud enough to rouse anyone in the area from their slumber…
