His silence and unresponsiveness to the outside world was all that was needed to convey how he felt at the loss of his dear daughter. It would seem the man refused to leave his manor at the moment, only accepting visitors and sending papers by courier and bird for administrative matters. He'd shift through the corridors of the Ruthern Manor, arriving to his paters , Gaius var Ruthern, placing a hand upon the door. His exit was swift as he left for the Armada Base. "If pater can niet stand strong then Y will, for him, for Ruthern, for little Natalya.." He'd make part way down the great hall to the fortress entrance, passing the bust of Erik var Ruthern, a distant relative. The man simply collapsed into grief, his façade shattered as the pain washed over, leaving the man as hollow as a shell. For the remaining month, he remained dormant within the confines of his office.
