Returned to the Sea

It is with bleeding hearts that the House of Ruthern announces the passing of one of their own, the Lady Natalya Rosario vas Ruthern. She was beloved by those whose lives she touched, and she will remain a guiding star for all of us who remain.

Funeral arrangements will be made available to family only, to protect their privacy in these trying times. Following this, the House of Ruthern will enter a period of mourning lasting one year.

The sorrow felt by Gaius, The Amiratus of Balian and Viscount of Marsana was unmeasurable. His silence and unresponsiveness to the outside world was all that was needed to convey how he felt at the loss of his dear daughter. It would seem the man refused to leave his manor at the moment, only accepting visitors and sending papers by courier and bird for administrative matters. Yet even then, he kept his conversations minimal; for he feared if he spoke further he would break.

A weary gaze passed over the letter, before a frown formed, Demetrius wept prior to the formal announcement. He'd shift through the corridors of the Ruthern Manor, arriving to his paters , Gaius var Ruthern, placing a hand upon the door. His exit was swift as he left for the Armada Base. "If pater can niet stand strong then Y will, for him, for Ruthern,  for little Natalya..He'd make part way down the great hall to the fortress entrance, passing the bust of Erik var Ruthern, a distant relative. The man simply collapsed into grief, his façade shattered as the pain washed over, leaving the man as hollow as a shell. For the remaining month, he remained dormant within the confines of his office. Only making time from mourning to glance over the common field reports which the Royal Balianese Armada dispatched to him.

Once the news reached her ears, the elderly woman frowned. Eryane hoped the best for her little brother Gaius. She had never met his little Natalya, but prayed that Gaius was able to remember that his family was around him with him during his time of need and loss.
