While dwarves are renowned for their record-keeping skills, many famous scholars simply used their own personal, clan, or common calendars for their studies. Da Dwed’rum Kronolkron is a combined effort by theological, guilded and independent scholars to create a common consensus that follows dwarven tradition. This ended with the disappearance of Urguan, which led to a succession crisis and the appointment of King Barradin, who had banished Ondnarch. KEZ ERON AUROK AGE OF GOLD The second age marks rapid economic and magical progress, after having faced near extinction in the Deep Cold. KEZ ERON KHRON AGE OF IRON Following the economic growth of the previous age, the Age of Iron was marked by militaristic growth. It ended with the deposition of Grand King Glorvin at swordpoint, due to rising political tensions. KEZ ERON ARDOL AGE OF BLOOD The fourth age was one of intense bloodshed and suffering, as the Khorvadic Ironborn dynasty rose to power and sought to completely upend all institutions that did not grant them power, which resulted in a mass loss of knowledge of the ages before this, known as the Great Collapse. This is only one of the many sins committed during this age. KEZ ERON KARAAD AGE OF FIRE The Age of Fire was hard won, starting with the rebellion against the Khorvadic Empire by Paragon Simppa, The Liberator. With the lost knowledge, the dwarves were forced to innovate to restore their kingdom. This age ended with the destruction of the continent of Arcas, with the death of the Aengul Gazadriel at the hands of Grand King Jorvin Starbreaker. KEZ ERON THRY AGE OF SILVER The current age. Following the common calendar, the dwarves are now in the Age of Silver, named such in honour of dwarven unity, since the later years of the Age of Fire were marked with great dwarven divides with wars against the Kingdoms of Khaz’Ulrah and Mynebor. The dwarves make great efforts to maintain unity. It technically began in the year 1767 with the Reformation of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan by Grand King Utak Ireheart, but the continent of Arcas only lasted 30 years thus the age of Silver starts upon Almaris. It is their 6th age, but the years are the same as the common calendar due to both starting the destruction of Arcas. THE MONTHSᛏᚺᛖ ᛗᛟᚾᛏᚺᛊ KYRR’BJOTHA DUNGRIMM’S CALL The call of death is silent, many pass away in the cold seasons of Dungrimm’s Winter. Dungrimm also uses the winter to remind us of the Silent Cold brought about by fallen Aengul Ondnarch, and what justice was served to it for straying from Yemekar’s Balance. ASSOCIATIONS: Black, a Mask, Marigold Flowers, Yew trees, Crows. KALDITHRHUN BELKA’S EMBRACE Belka, the Brathmordakin of weather, fertility and love is connected to the season of spring, as she makes the land fertile with her downpours of rain. With fresh flowers blossoming, love is also in the air. ASSOCIATIONS: Red, a Spear, Rose Flowers, Wisteria trees, Rabbits & Deer. THOROK’AINDAR ANBELLA’S GRACE The month of Thorok’Aindar is the start of the dwarven planting season. The soils are tilled, seeds are spread and dwedmar pray to the Brathmordakin of Nature, Anbella, for her to grace their fields. ASSOCIATIONS: Green, a Scythe, Lily Flowers, Maple trees, Cats & Bears. AZSOL ARMAKAK’S LABOUR With the harvest inbound, and the sun higher in the sky than ever, the dwarves thank Armakak, patron of merchants and labourers, Brathmordakin of Merchants and the Sun, for ensuring Anbella’s crop grew well. ASSOCIATIONS: Gold, a Scale, Tulip Flowers, Citrus trees, Foxes. KHOR’UNN YEMEKAR’S BALANCE The ending of the summer seasons brings about the Grand Equinox, the day when the length of night and day are equal, symbolising Yemekar's Balance perfectly. ASSOCIATIONS: White, a Hammer, Lotus Flowers, Ash trees, Urguani mountain eagle. ARKON’GERON OGRADHAD’S STUDY With leaves falling outside, it is no better time to retreat indoors to one’s home and prepare for the long winter ahead. One crucial part of this is recording all that happened up to this stage, in honour of Ogradhad. The paper-producing reeds and honey are ripe, at this time, making book production much easier. ASSOCIATIONS: Cyan, a Book, Begonia flowers, Elm trees, Owls. DHARGUTHR GRIMDUGAN’S SHROUD The darkness of Grimdugan shrouds the realm. The nights grow longer and longer by his will, but the dwarves will live on with the heat and light of their hearths, and offer tithe to Grimdugan for protection in the night. ASSOCIATIONS: Purple, a Dagger, Nightshade Flowers, Willow trees, Magpies. Edited September 26, 2023 by _RoyalCrafter_

Malins Welcome 1519 Share Posted January 4, 2024 Am I understanding correctly that the year on this calendar is the same as the so called "Second Age"?
