TO ALL THOSE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SUBJECTS,

Be they of noble stock or of common blood, to all who partake in the ties of our unfaltering Union, We, King John, son of the late King James, send greeting in this darkest hour of sorrow and mourning. For Our royal nephew, the King Edmund, the Prince Henry of Merryweather, Leopold of Haverlock and others of the Council of Aaun that accompanied him that day lie dead. Murdered in a failed coup d'état orchestrated and championed by the equally as failed and disgraceful Frederick Aurelian of Stassion, who, as of Our writing this, is to be considered an outlaw and enemy of the state, same as any who continue to associate with him in his failed quest to disrupt the naturality of peace and order.

For Our own part, We lament the death of Our royal nephew and those that have passed, yet remain ever thankful to the Canonist Princes of Haense, Petra, Balian and Hyspia, whose swift arrival alongside what was mustered of Our Royal Forces under arms was able to make short work of the traitors and their accomplices, enabling the restoring of order within Whitespire and the Crownlands. And remain, as those that have passed would have wanted, hopeful for a brighter future ahead for all, and the fulfillment of the martyrs’ dreams of the steadfast and lasting peace for which they did bleed.

It is for that reason, and in recognition of those ideals for which they died, that We declare, for the moment, that Our Union shall not commit any forces under arms in the ongoing struggle between the Covenant of Five and League of Veletz - at least for so long a time as is required to put the late King and those martyred to eternal rest as is proper and, in their memory, pursue justice, the matter of which We shall now properly address below.

TO THE MARGRAVE OF STASSION,

Your late King, Our royal nephew, to whom you once swore loyalty lays dead, butchered by those carrying your banner, with at their helm your lord father who now, it appears, has promptly fled the realm for fear of the noose to which he would surely have been condemned. Thus, it would appear, he has abandoned you without so much as a second thought, leaving you alone to shoulder the burden of responsibility for the atrocious crimes committed in the name of the House of Stassion, in your name.

THUS We do hereby summon you to trial within two months time, for which We do call of you to appear before Us and Our Council on charges of complicity in all that your lord father and bannermen are known to have committed, that is regicide, murder and treason. Be sure to show and speak your case, for failing to attend shall be taken as an admission of guilt and see you swiftly judged as such.

Given at the Royal City of Whitespire,

on the 21st of Sigismund’s End of 1952

His Royal Majesty, JOHN ALEXANDER, by the Grace of GOD, King of Aaun, Prince of Alstion, Duke of Corazon and Balemena, Count of Enswerp and Florentine, Protector of the Realm

"Ah, what a twist! Perfect for my upcoming story! Though what do they say? It is always good to strike a snake by the head?"

Lottie Fersen spoke in a stoic tone to the other maids within Castle Markev while she went on through her thoughts verbally. The woman would continue to brainstorm for an upcoming story, having the point of her charcoal pen touching the rough paper before she had an eureka moment. Fersen pointing up towards the ceiling as her expression brightened as she picked herself up and away from the other maids and off to her room to begin writing.

"Though, perhaps he resembles a fish more then a snake! As at least a snake does eventually strike while a fish hides in rocks!"

As Fersen finished her thought with cheer in her voice, continuing her writing with diligence. Letting her imagination guide her writing while the pen brushed across the rough paper. All while this happened, there was a devilish, a villainous grin stretched across her lips.

As the Count of Aquilae read the letter a faint hum would leave him, he himself having been the victim of a group of veletzian bandits just a few hours past. Yet there was no anger filling him as he read the missive, rather a mark of interest and joy reading the words of the newly crowned King Johnnes. A sense of awaited justice to be delivered, the time of a proper trial against one who has allowed their men to commit a horrible crime. A hope was kept, that maybe more bloodshed might be spared and that justice itself would see the light of day.
