Charter of the Cottonroot

 

Parties:

The Cottonwood Clan

Represented by Beorn Cottonwood

 

The Blackroot Clan

Represented by Chief Khazaefron Blackroot

 

Purpose:

This treaty outlines the formal agreement between the Cottonwoods and the Blackroots for the purpose of preserving the Cottonwoods while keeping it as a distinct clan within the larger community of Hefrumm.

 

Article 1: Representation and Hierarchy

1.1 The Cottonwoods shall be represented in the chiefs council and political matters by the CHief of the Blackroot.

1.2 The day-to-day affairs and experiences of the average dwarf within the Cottonwoods shall remain unchanged. This includes the preservation of their name as Cottonwoods.

 

Article 2: Herald Rank

2.1 A new rank, known as the Herald, shall be established to ensure the autonomy and identity of the Cottonwoods within the Blackroots.

2.2 The Herald shall be responsible for safeguarding the Cottonwoods against full annexation, thereby maintaining their distinct cultural and clan characteristics.

2.3 The individual appointed as the Herald, currently Beorn Cottonwood, shall serve as the contact person for inquiries related to Cottonwood history and culture.

 

Article 3: Responsibilities

3.1 The Herald is not expected to actively lead or manage Cottonwood affairs but is designated as a protector against assimilation.

 

Article 4: Implementation

4.1 This treaty shall be effective immediately upon mutual agreement by both parties.

 

Article 5: Review and Amendment

5.1 The terms of this treaty may be subject to review and amendment by mutual consent of both clans.

5.2 The treaty can be abolished at any time unilaterally by either clan through a vote of the members of the clan or by one of the individuals that have signed this treaty.
