Listen up and gather around…

 

For as this war rages on in the central heartlands of the continent. Only a few things seem omnipresent: death, despair, and the boom of cannons. 

It was in the grim shadow of this colossal medieval war, spanning vast and varied landscapes, that a sinister plague began its insidious spread, born from the chaos and destruction wrought by relentless conflict. These armies, righteous and angry in spirit, clash with ferocious intensity, their battles ravaging the countryside, cities, and towns. Yet, they have unknowingly sowed the seeds of a far deadlier adversary. The constant movement of troops and refugees, the unburied dead left in the aftermath of brutal skirmishes, and the collapse of infrastructure, toiled long to craft, have all created a fertile breeding ground for disease. 

Amidst this turmoil, the air has grown thick with the stench of decay, and whispers of a mysterious illness begin to weave their way through the war-torn lands. It started quietly, at first. Rumors of villages in winter where no smoke rose from the chimneys. Towns where eerie silence had replaced the bustling market day chatter. 

The plague, as indiscriminate as the war itself, started to claim lives not by the edge of the sword, but through an invisible force that no armor could deflect and no fortress wall could hold back. This was a different kind of enemy, unseen yet present all the same, turning the survivors of the war into victims of an even more merciless foe. The story of this era, marked by the convergence of human conflict and natural catastrophe, unfolds as a poignant testament to resilience, tragedy, and the indomitable human spirit facing the darkest of times.

Or perhaps that's just the tale of a pauper bard...

Events will be centered around combat, exploring, collaboration, and diplomacy. All I can promise is that, should you survive, your character will have quite the tale and heirloom.
