Makoto 誠 and Meiyo 名誉, HONESTY and HONOR are two virtues held in high regard amongst the samurai for they are integral to the value of our character. Who are we if we cannot meet the obligations expected of us? It was upon the 1174th day of the Kamijikan that the Treaty of Kretzen was signed that made official the long standing friendship of the Reinmaren Waldenian and the Oyashi of the Rising Sun since the days we had settled amongst them in the then-Duchy of Minitz and a 500 year long historical friendship with roots back to the first Waldenic Konigreich of Aesterwald. It is upon our honor that we answer the call of our battle brothers in the Principality of Reinmar to expel the do’badders that lurk amidst the Ravenswood and to campaign together.

 

It is an edited list of demands our signature finds itself on, for the original demands of Sakura-Gakure had been met two months after the agreement to campaign together. After agents of Ravenswood had brought word back of Koyo-Kuni’s intentions to collect owed taxes by force in its participation of the campaign, a diplomat was sent bearing a third of the demanded payment - a demanded payment not accounting for a prior wiping of debt at the mercy of the last Primarch Jenny’s will for which Ravenswood was late in but remains unobligated to pay. While the full demanded debt was inevitably paid during the diplomat’s visit and resolved the personal dispute between Sakura-Gakure and Ravenswood, it has not changed the view of Sakura-Gakure upon the Ravenswood - a rump government with an inability to speak with honesty or meet minimal obligations, a former vassal with no respect for the sanctity of the Sakura Forests which their lands for years remained colloquially speaking ‘griefed’ and an eyesore to our West and a former, distant neighbor who has never broke chopsticks with us. To this day your sovereign has never met with us and is as avoidant as a bat to the light. Putting it bluntly, we would rather aid our true allies than parlay for peace on behalf of one who shared a state with us on bad terms and left with a standing debt going on multiple years and only paid under threat of conflict. We have no respect for you. By comparison, the Moonlit Sanctuary of Eittitica had spoken to us with honesty about the vision they themselves held for the Neko-jin and after the payment of remaining debts we parted ways with mutual respect even if we hold no official relations yet with their diaspora. 

 

It is because our brothers in Reinmar and friends in Celia’nor sought to support our demands that the Koyo-Kuni Shugonate shall honor and support the demands of theirs upon the Ravenswood. The Koyo-Kuni Shugonate henceforth declares a PARTIAL MOBILIZATION of the Flower-Capital Sakura-Gakure and Mugmar’s Circle in preparation for a possible campaign north alongside the Reinmarens and Celians should their demands not be met. It shall remain optional for the remaining Shōya and their citizens to participate in this campaign but we encourage those in search of the pursuit of glory, justice and honor to rally under the banner of the Shugo. All Men of Hazum and able-bodied Oyashimans of the Hidden Cherry Blossom Village are to acquire armaments from the Stratocracy should they be lacking. All Shōya are to remain on standby for the defense of the state. The Shugonate will at this point make no more personal demands from the Ravenswood aside from the enforcement of its co-belligerents’ demands.
