During a cold morning in Valdev, the boy wandered out to collect a certain flower. He brought it back home, and cooked it a certain way. He knew plenty about flowers, after all.

Once his stew was made, he collected a bit of it, and baked himself a tray of cookied, incorporating them into it. He stepped out the door, fastening a tulip within his hair.

He rode far, and far, until he made it to the warmtth of the south, and wandered until he found a field that was all too familiar to him. Tulips.

He wandered forth into the field, dragging his hands across each flower, and analyzing them. Bees were disturbed, flying up around him. It was mid day, and the heat beat down onto his Brotherhood armor.

He laid in the bed of flowers, each of them wrapping around and hugging him, as too did the sun.

A smile eventually found his face. A rare sight in the past years. He had nothing on him, save for a few of those cookies he had baked earlier.

He took a few out, and ate them. Delighted- they were just as good as ever.

He began to fall asleep in that field, and his smile lasted until he saw the sun for the very last time.

"Spasiba for staying, tulips."

I'm sorry if I confused you. Thank you for actually being there.

Goodbye, Cassien.

Please don't blame yourself. I know it'll hurt, and I'm so sorry for it. Tell her that I loved her, please.

Joakim: @Seuss

Spoiler

You were training me to be a warrior. The war I was fighting was not one that could be defeated with swords or arrows, and not one that could be defended with heavy armor. I hope that every Brotherhood soldier may learn from you.

Ser Caspien: @Sandman_Plays

Spoiler

I wish I could've one day become a Knight, like you. You should be proud of what you've made the Brotherhood. Krusae Zwy Kongzem.

Irena: @Aquachan1

Spoiler

[!] A mere tulip was framed. It'd never wilt.

No further letters would find anyone.

Pre-posting her response, damn **** you man ;(

When the letter at last reached Asteria, she was smiling again, as usual. She'd thought he'd fulfill what they'd promised, to keep in touch, so she opened it. Her purple eyes looking down at the letter as she read over the words upon it. Unwillingly, tears fell down her cheeks and a sob ripped it's way through her. "I told you that there was so much . . . so much left to live for." The half-elf sniffled, tears falling down like a waterfall now until she couldn't think, couldn't breathe. It hurt so badly, and she couldn't help but blame herself. She'd killed him, in some way. All she did was hurt people, that's what she said. . . and she was right. Eventually, when the tears subsided, she found her daughter and she sighed, picking up the little angel that life had brought to her. She wrapped her arms tightly around the child, it was the very least she could do now.

Cassien reads over the letter in horror, a hand clutched over his chest, his other shakily holding the piece of paper, "****.. no- DAMN IT!" The elf roars, sending a chair flying across his study. His hand would find its way back to his chest again, over his heart, Why did it hurt so much? Cassien leans against the wall, sliding down it to sit on the floor. He was alone.

“Dead?”

The courier who delivered the news to Esfir nodded slowly, only to watch a choked sob escape her as she processed the news. One of her longest friends was gone. And then, a scream echoed through the halls of Mondstadt.

“HE CAN NIET BE DEAD!
