See the bottom of this post for an overview of the mechanics that can be easily changed if desired. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [3/4]-Section 1: Overview - [How they work] To establish a Tradeship in another port, Dock/Ship-Owners must agree to send Tradeships to one another’s Docks or Harbors. This can be one sided, where a Tradeship is sent in exchange for something, or as a gift. Or it can be two sided, with each group sending a Tradeship to eachother. When a ship is received at a Dock, merchants from the sending group must bring their items to the chests and fill in the pre-designed shops. Merchants from the destination port may also utilize the shop spaces if there are some left available. [*1] The ship will remain in place for as long as the contract lasts. Dock/Ship-Owners are encouraged to inform captains of deadlines to take their supplies back(this is over a long term, it will not require constant monitoring unless stock is popular) [*2]. Contracts are preferably posted on the forums and will make the logistical process easier, or kept in the form of screenshots for reference purposes. Naturally though, any accepting port can host a ship of any sort for however long it likes.[*2a] [Potential benefits] Additional Revenue Sources Having a new space for exchange rp will give every individual and larger polities the opportunity to expand sources of income. Ships themselves can be built by various sources, and merchants from far and wide are always eager for shop spaces with high traffic. Guild groups & Build groups All kinds of guilds come together to celebrate similar interests. Usage of trade and travel ships would expand the possibilities of guilds related to water activities, like the deep-sea explorers guild, fisherman's guild, dolphin-taming guild, and other such organizations With all of the increased need for ships, artisans and craftsmen will love being able to offer their exterior or interior design skills to anyone powerful enough to pay for the improvement of a great vessel. Recreational Spaces Large ships tend to naturally have enough space to hold small gatherings or appreciate the beauty of coasts. Small events and local RP centers can appear upon or near these Tradeships. Pirate RP With the stock of trade and wealth out in the open, there occasionally comes pirates who wish to take other people’s stuff. Individual groups who can build or acquire a ship may freely travel the waters of Aevos. If a pirate ship enters the waters of a nation or settlement without irp permission, it is participating in hostile activity, and may be targeted by Warships of the territory if they have built any. If there are no ships protecting the coasts, or they do not engage the pirate ship with them, then the pirate ship may participate in a Tradeship attack. [Example of a tradeship] ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [3/4]-Section 3: Tradeship Attacks - [Trade ship Attacks] If a pirate group chooses to attack a Tradeship, it’s 4 sailors will engage in a boarding pvp battle (ref. [4/4]) against all of the soldiers and allies which the Dock/Harbor can gather. At an agreed time, the sides will engage in pvp.[*3] Upon a loss of the pirates to the Tradeship forces, the pirate’s gear may be taken. Upon a victory of the pirates over the Tradeship forces, pirates will be allowed to take the gear of the defeated enemies, and perform thievery according to the Petty Theft Guidelines and Limitations https://www.lordofthecraft.net/systems/petty-theft-r2/. Tradeships cannot be raided or griefed unless after a successful attack by pirates or privateers. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [3/4]-Section 4: Example of Tradeship Treaty - Image & Example: Phrasing & numbers are generalized for example purposes. This document is an example of official permissions to move ships between ports, and for public recognition of mutual military support within a restricted context. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Community Tags [*1] - Specifications for who is and is not allowed to use the onboard shops will be at the discretion of the ship captain primarily, and secondarily, the port owner. [*2] - As mentioned elsewhere (ref.[ 2/4] - Removal Process), 14 days after a public notice (or acknowledgement of private notice) to have a ship leave one’s Dock/Harbor, not moving a ship is considered a release of ownership. However, aside from a request from the owner of the port, a ship can stay in a port for the entire map, so long as the agreement is bi-laterally in place. [*2a] - There is ideally a balance between giving enough time for ship owners to communicate the arrival and departure of ships; and also a fair amount of time for Dock managers to be able to remove ships that are no longer useful. After 2 weeks, it seems fair that a neglected ship can be moved and taken ownership of, by the faction which owns the Dock. By community request though, this time can be shortened or lengthened. [*3] - Definitely realistic, but probably over-bearing. There of course needs to be an incredible risk taken in order to gain access to such an incredible reward, but perhaps the unlimited nature of 1 side can be reduced to a capacity no more than 3x the number of attackers. Or something along those lines. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
