A Warning To Elves

Spoiler

A public missive, posted primarily around the midlands and Vortice, but could have been spread anywhere.

Last elven day, I was assaulted and had my ear sheared off by two men claiming to do it in the name of God. They seemed to think I was an affront to their god for existing.

I have personally alerted the militia of two nations, and a close llir of mine who has alerted a third. But, naturally, I cannot personally tell everyone, so I am writing this missive.

To "Brother" Raullin.

warned you. I told you that if you went through with your task, I would make you regret it, and I swear that I will. I will expose your name and your appearance to everyone. You who dishonorably corner unarmored and unarmed men outside of cities, with a friend, both in full armor. A shame that you are such a stupid individual. Of course I would find your name.

They know your face, your name, your organization. They know which church you ran in to hide like the pathetic whelp that you are. It's really quite honorable to hide in a place of god from the consequences of your actions.

You and your ilk poison the name of god.

You are why people resent god. You are why elves make comparably little effort to be holy.

You cause the problems you seek to solve.

To anyone concerned by this missive.

Brother Raullin is a human man of about 5'10 or 5'11 in height. He has blonde hair that looks like it was rubbed in dirt, and blue eyes. He has a horrific burn scar on the right side of his face, discoloring his hair but leaving his vision in tact. His partner wore full white armor.

They cornered me on horses on the roads between Celia'nor and the rest of the Midlands.

They cowered like children in a church when the search party I had alerted of their threats found them, so I can only assume they are not of great courage. My ear was retrieved, so clearly they were not too attached to it.

When I so much as took a step back, they drew their weapons. There was nothing I could have done on my own, with no armor. I hope that this aids in no one else getting harmed in the same way that I did.

I was extremely lucky to receive medical care and a prosthetic near immediately after the incident. I feel making this missive is my duty.

If you are harmed, or have been, please send me a recollection of the attack via bird. I know people who would be willing to help you. My name can be found at the bottom of this missive. Naturally I am not going to say where you could physically find me. I do not expect my attackers will be very pleased about this document. [ooc: secondary_spidy]

As the new military head of Vortice, Estevot was busy sifting through missives when he saw this one. A Canonist himself, and also knowing how illegal it was currently, felt the utmost indignation at two Canonists committing a forbidden act. He'd go and bring it to the attention of the proper authorities in the Church when he could, given this was a forbidden practice.
