Of the Dreadlands

A Dignified Letter from Robert Tiberius Alstion

TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE REALM AND BEYOND,

Hearken the words of an Alstion prince of great renown. Our realm has seen the sights of unfamiliar bandits. Those of nowhere have found welcome in the pitiful state of Silasia - one that once bent the knee to tiny men who ride atop logs in a still lake. There is no dignity to be seen in a pitiful state who claims good terms with Canondom to be welcoming bandits that have publicly issued ransom for young children and those affiliated with our Church. Not only this, but they have taken ransom those who were citizens of our apostolic kingdom. There is no balance to be struck here. Their brigandry is an affront to our kingdom, our inhabitants, and to the royal House of Alstion. Thus I declare that all who swear loyalty to our kingdom, the Church, and the House of Alstion to oppose these brigands of the Dreadlandic province where possible and not allow them the courtesy of being welcomed into your home.

Heed those who profess their lineage or loyalty to the houses of Staunton, de Kampf, Mogg, and Brawm - signatories of the Dreadland founding document. They are not to be trusted. Allow Silasia a moment to determine their allegiance to either our Church and Canondom or the bloodlust of bandits. If they make their continued allegiance to bandits known, let the same opposition to brigands be granted to the Silasian state.

We stand with our brothers and sisters of Canondom. Any found in opposition shall be granted their just due.

ISSUED AND PROCLAIMED;
In Enswerp, Apostolic Kingdom of Aaun
On the 20th of Harren’s Folly, 1994

A creature of the Hells wonders.

In the many times it has strolled through Enswerp, and the Ruins of Whitespire, and the lands of the Kingdom - it has been empty, save passer-bys and Daelish bandits with more grit to stand their ground then the inhabitants of the very kingdom they rob.

And yet they speak so bold, as if they have the means to back their words.

It concludes it is time to return its banner - a reminder of ideals, proven in praxis - to lands long quieted.

A little Lord of the Royal House, Francis L. Alstion of Enswerp rubbed together his lips nervously at his uncle's latest correspondence to the Realm from the heights of Cliffhaven.

Karl Audemar Valfleur adjusted his gauntlets in Enswerp's courtyard, making them more neat as he prepared to visit his brother in the Petra.With a firm and matured countenace, the Lord Marshal prepared for the defense of Aaun and the Alstion dynasty.

Earoslav reads the missive nodding, taking a break from counting his coins "Appears the Alstionite speaks the true word of God, though I wonder what shall come of my own blood of Staunton" The Prince ponders by his fire whilst twisting the tips of his long Moustache.
