Howdy all, I hope that everyone is well and having a fantastic day. Minus my two week absence to deal with unfortunate family matters & a small reprieve vacation afterwards, I’ve been hard at work, as has my team in the last few months. During my short absence a bit ago, I’m happy to see the team worked diligently in my absence. Shout out to @Smol for all her hard work holding down the fort on my behalf, as well as the team for all of their hard work.

 

There’s much that our team has been up to these last few months, from events to bring the Community together, to Media projects, to Wiki ones. I hope that through reading this update, you can see some of what we’ve been up to.

 

As a reminder, the team is always looking for feedback, and our feedback form can be found at the bottom of the team update. Our recent Summer Games were a result of Feedback given by members of the Community. If you have any Feedback, please feel free to utilize the Form below.

CURRENT ROSTER

We’ve had a few people depart the team, as well as welcoming a few new additions. Thank you to those who departed for all their hard work & a huge welcome to our newcomers.

INTRODUCTION - APPLICATIONS

 

Applications have always been a crucial part of the server, as they serve as the gateway new players must pass to join the server.

 

 Over the last few months, we have seen applications vary between April to July 2024. In April, a total of 167 applications were submitted and reviewed. In May, a total of 168 applications were submitted and reviewed. In June, a total of 209 applications were submitted and reviewed. In July, a total of 236 applications were submitted and reviewed.  In August, a total of 268 applications were submitted and reviewed. So from the period of April to August 2024 saw a total of 1048 applications submitted and reviewed in this current quarter of 2024. Finally, out of these, 588 new players were accepted.

Overall throughout April and May, we observed a decrease in the number of people applying to be whitelisted on LOTC. However, there was a notable upturn in application numbers during June - August, which corresponds to the increased availability of free time for many of our players during that period. This trend closely mirrors patterns observed in previous years during these months.

During June of 2024, we saw a total of 209 applications submitted and reviewed. Out of these, 132 new players were accepted! Our accepted/denied percentage ratio last year was around 132/77.

APPLICATION MONARCH

 

The title of Application Monarch for June and July, August 2024 goes to @Smol

 

With the most applications reviewed during this period, @Smol is our reigning Application Monarch of June, July and August, followed by @bird5k and @blake.

 

COMMITMENT UPDATES

Media Team

The Media Team took a little reprieve, but are now back at it full force. We’ve recently come out with our Urguan Capital Showcase, the second showcase in our re-visit to the series. Currently, Celia’nor is planned to be the next on our list for showcases, so stay tuned for that. Voluble, a welcomed re-addition to our team, just finished his video explaining how to apply to the server. Shout-out to Blake, Voluble, & SaviourMeme for their hard work on their videos. Lastly but not least, Saviour put out a video showing off the beautiful land of Aevos in all of its beauty. I look forward to seeing what they, and other members of the Media team have planned next. Short-form content is something that was unfortunately put on the back burner as he focused on long-form content & people slowed down to enjoy Summer. This is something that moving forward, I will work to change, as we try to pump out more short-form content.

 

 Wiki

The Wiki Team has gone through various internal discussions, including starting overhaul efforts on various pages, such as the Wiki Rules, Homepage, and more. We have internally outlined what it is that we wish to change for these pages, amongst others, and have started our work on them behind-the-scenes. 

 

Some other pages we are working on updating are: Fauna, Flora, Pantheons, Cloud Temple, Nodes, Player Guides, and other pages with some outdated lore.We want your feedback on which Wiki pages you think should be prioritized for updating. Feel free to reach out to any of the Wiki peeps, or put your feedback in our feedback form found at the bottom of the post.

 

Community Services (Map Art, Capital Pastes)

The Community Services section has been hard at work as per usual. Over the last few months, we’ve handled lots of map art, as well as a few Realm Capital Pastes, with a few more planned to be implemented to our knowledge in the near future. Events and Arts Contests

Every couple months we hold a community wide arts contest, it takes us some time to deliberate over the winners but we are happy to announce that the winners for the ‘Colours of the Rainbow’ themed arts cabin have been decided. Throughout July and August, the community team has been dedicated to hosting the CT Summer Olympics. We had a total of 14 teams and over 50 players taking part in this exciting event. The event also couldn’t have been possible without the aid the community team provided throughout the six weeks. Finally, the top three placing teams are as follows, so give them a big round of applause.

TEAM DIRECTION & CONCLUSION - @HOGOBOJO

 

- Goals Over the Last Few Months -

Over the last few months, we had several goals, although most were Media focused. I’m happy by the quality of Media videos that we recently produced, but admit that the short-form content that was strived towards didn’t end up meeting expectations, with it rather lacking in terms of how much we put out. This is something I admit & will strive to ensure improves moving forward. In-terms of retention data, a goal we had to address, we’re currently exploring options with the Tech Team to see if it is possible to have easier to access and more accurate retention data. If this isn’t possible or completed in the near future, we will return to manually checking the data for now, and post our findings. Please keep in mind that manually reviewing this isn’t as accurate, and is time consuming, but we’ll undergo this process if this is what the Community wants.

 

- Future Goals -

Moving forward, I’d like to continue our efforts on our re-visit to City Capital Showcases, as well as more long-form content such as guides & more. Additionally, I want to start putting Shorts out once again. This was something that was stated as a goal over the last few months, and something I admit that we unfortunately didn’t achieve, with our attention focused on other projects. I acknowledge this fully, and moving forward will make a conscious effort towards changing this, and pushing forth the initiative. As mentioned above, there are various Wiki revamps we currently have in progress, with Wiki Rules being one of the top priorities, which I hope to have out in the coming weeks.

 

- Feedback Form -

Since its inception, the Community Team has been dedicated to assisting wandering souls, whitelisting players, aiding new & old players alike, and much more. However, it's been some time since we've sought feedback on the Community Team itself. With the survey below, our goal is to gather valuable anonymous insights into what the Community Team excels at and where it could improve. We will be aiming to post this form every three months.

- Conclusion -

Overall, we’ve had a productive last few months, with lots being finished, and much more in the works coming soonTM. We’ve downsized the team a lot, but despite that, we still work hard to ensure that everything gets done. There’s always room for improvement for me, the team, and so on, and will always strive towards improving. If you have any feedback, please use the anonymous feedback form found below. This is the main way and easiest way for me to get unfiltered feedback, so please utilize such with any feedback.
