◆ THE CHANCELLOR’S REPORT ◆

The inaugural edition of my own Chancellor’s Report is one I have taken great care in authoring, given the historic importance of keeping the Haeseni people apprised of the kingdom’s happenings. And in keeping with the legacies of Johanna Barclay, Prince Marus Audemar, and Iosif Basrid during their own tenures, I hereby publish the NINTH EDITION of the Palatial Post–a comprehensive report of recent activities within our kingdom.

 

My first two years as Palatine have proven quite eventful, even in contrast to my duties as Lady Emissar in the years prior. It seems that I am unable to walk a few steps beyond the walls of  the Kasstel Lesanov without someone seeking an audience with me, something I had known the Haeseni people were starved for in times past. It brings me great personal pride that my presence is so desired and sought after, something even my younger self would scoff at. Though I maintain my stern manner and firm mind on matters of governance, my heart remains inclined to the prosperity of Hanseti-Ruska.

 

At present, my reform of the Aulic’s Boyar Council has already borne fruit. The diligence of our appointed advisers, in addition to those already upon the greater council itself, already shows great promise. In the coming saint’s weeks, myself and the boyars shall begin what I have dubbed the ‘Palatial Survey’, which shall be a complete private tour of our kingdom’s lands. We shall make note of any ruins, natural formations, and points of interest that might serve us in the future as places of fortification or historical sites to be preserved for further generations. Apart from that development, the function of the Aulic Council remains strong, with special recognition given to Lady Emissar Emma Kortrevich, who already shows great expertise in her ability to strengthen relations with our foreign allies abroad.

 

Our declared conflict with the darkspawn covens of Ailmere remains at the forefront of our efforts. Already, we receive the support of both various noble vassals and commoners alike. The Crown extends particular thanks to Firress Mara Vanir, who already intends to supply our kingdom’s people with alchemical potions and oils capable of protecting them from sudden attacks at the hands of those who dwell in shadow. The Crown will soon establish a forward camp on the shores of Lake Georg, where further scouting missions and operations will be conducted. It will remain our mission to eliminate and cleanse the frozen north and return it to Godan’s light.

◆ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS ◆

 

THE HERZENAS ROTHSWALD

 

 

His Royal Majesty, King Marius III and his wife, Queen Juliya of Reinmar, were blessed with their fifth child and second daughter–a princess. The infant girl is named Isabel Adryana, and granted the royal duchy of Rothswald to hold for her lifetime.

 

With five heirs to the throne of Barbanov, the succession to the dual-crowns of Hanseti & Ruska have been more than secured. It is with great pride that the nation may await great things to come from these royal offspring.

THE BLESSING OF SIGISMUND

 

 

In an hour of great peril, the city of Neu Valdev came under threat at the hands of a darkspawn invader, who remained unseen and yet filled the air with fear. Seeking shelter within the Basilica of Saint Joren & the Broken Chains, the citizenry sought the protection of GOD as they fled the creeping shadows that swirled around them. When all was thought to be lost, the Lady Palatine stood atop the tomb of Exalted Sigismund and bid him save his descendants, to rescue them in their time of greatest need. And in that moment, a golden light shone down and cast the shadow from that consecrated ground.

 

The diligent Father Alaric interviewed both myself and Lord Stanislav var Ruthern to receive a more solid account of the holy occurrence, to add unto his own recollections and submit them for holy documentation. The Crown takes this as a sign that our work in Ailmere remains righteous and just–that GOD stands with us in our fight against the Shadow.

THE ROYAL TOUR OF HANSETI-RUSKA

 

 

It is the wish of our Grand Lady and the Crown that the beginning discussions of a royal tour be commenced. Now that a new Palatine has been appointed and the Grand Prince of Kusoraev is of traveling age, the King and Queen-consort believe it is finally time for the heads of our northern realm to look upon the lands they so diligently govern and administrate. The vassals of the kingdom shall be contacted in the coming saint’s weeks to discuss visits paid to their keeps and lands. It is the expectation of the Aulic Council that this proves a productive tour and provides them with further information on the needs of our loyal peerage.

◆ UPDATES ON THE AULIC COUNCIL ◆

 

AULIC APPOINTMENTS & THE BOYAR COUNCIL

 

 

The first two appointments of the council by the Galahar Administration were made with great haste, it being the desire of the Lady Palatine to see those seats occupied so that their function remained intact. Thus, Countess Emma Kortrevich and Lord Sigmar var Ruthern were raised to those most-esteemed roles.

 

At the recent Herzenvrest, the seats of two Jovenaar were also filled, by Count Erik Kortrevich and Lord Alekszej Korvacz. These follow the restoration of the Aulic Court by the very same Lord Kortrevich, who preceded the Duchess of Galahar as Lord Palatine.

 

In addition, the reform of the advisory council of Boyars was put to parchment and published within days of the Palatine’s own appointment–where Count Erik Kortrevich, Baroness Adelina van Leuven, Lord Sigmar var Ruthern, and Lord Stanislav var Ruthern were called upon to act as further advisers to the Crown.

THE 1ST SCOUTING MISSION OF AILMERE

 

 

This past saint’s week, a party of Haeseni led by the Lady Palatine proceeded to venture into the icy landscape of Ailmere–the northernmost region of Aevos. In pursuit of potential darkspawn outposts and fortresses, the scouts proved successful in uncovering TWO locations of note: Distrugestadt & Lumbridge.

THE TREATY OF THE NORTHERN COMET

 

 

The Lady Emissar has recently renewed our alliance with the Principality of Celia’nor, a pact dating back to the dual-reign of King Ivan VIII and Queen Nataliya I. This will likewise continue our mutual exchange of daemonsteel ingots for alchemical potions and ingredients.

◆ UPDATES ON THE NOBILITY ◆

 

THE DEATH OF DUCHESS TATIYANA VAS RUTHERN

 

 

The Ducal House of Ruthern mourns the loss of their matriarch, Tatiyana vas Ruthern. The first woman to hold the title ‘Duchess of Vidaus’, Tatiyana served the kingdom ably as Lady Speaker of the Duma and vassal of Hanseti-Ruska. In her youth, she was provided education by Patriarch Villorik, who instilled within her a great conviction and dedication to GOD’s light. As a woman grown, she remained one of the great leaders of her generation. She leaves behind her widower, Lord Gentry, and six young children.

 

Now, the young Lord Dmitry var Ruthern ascends to the title of Duke, but will not obtain the title until his majority. As stated in the will of the late-Duchess, the regency of Vidaus shall be placed in the hands of the great lady’s brother, Lord Sigmar var Ruthern. The Crown shares in his loss, and wishes him well with his service as guardian to his nephew.

THE UNION OF AMADOR & RUTHERN

 

 

The Viscomital House of Amador celebrates the long-awaited matrimony of its matriarch, Viscountess Nerida Amador. She is joined in marriage by Lord Stanislav var Ruthern, who will sit by her side as consort. Though desiring a private ceremony, the wedded pair have called for a public celebration within their countryside estate so that their kinsfolk might revel in this noble union.

THE TERCENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY OF HOUSE KORTREVICH

 

The Comital House of Kortrevich has celebrated their tercentennial anniversary of their family’s founding with great fanfare within their seat of Emsgrad. Ennobled in 1707 by King Robert I, the House of Kortrevich have remained steadfast and leal vassals of both House Barbanov-Bihar and Hanseti-Ruska. Their history of skilled statesmen, strong marshals, and chivalric knights have garnered them a reputation for loyalty, honor, and strength.
