My name is Milodrag the Scyfling, and I am running to be your Grand Maer! Some of you know me as your local parish priest, or as Court Chaplain to the King, or even as a brother of Saint Karl. For those who do not, I am an honest man, devoted to my God. Furthermore, as a scion of House Colborn, I am a loyal servant of the Haeseni People. Despite being born and raised in the Tarchar Steppes to a Scyfling father and a Tarchar mother I am a Haenseman first and foremost. I believe in the old Biharist Dream of self-determination and of the Jeremic Liberties that lay out the rights of all Haeseni. By looking to the ideals and institutions of the past I believe New Valdev can build a better future – a future for the Haeseni People, by the Haeseni People! 

 

In the reign of Good King Robert, the city of Old Reza was administered by a city council, established to provide a path for the common civil servant to gain experience in government. King Robert established a robust council of stewards, treasurers, administrators, and other civil servants to collectively work towards the betterment of the city. With a devoted civil service, the Haeseni capital boomed like it had not for decades. It is this type of government I envision if granted the honor to serve as maer. 

 

I seek to run for Grand Maer to continue the activity and prosperity of our beloved Grand Maer “Ricky Dicky.” In furtherance of the previously stated goals I present my plan, called the “Great Society.” This series of reforms has been designed to create a new culture within the city, which shall aim to reinvigorate the city administration, support local craftsmen and merchants, recognize the efforts of everyday citizens, and continue to promote and encourage regular festivities. 

 

The Great Society - The Reforms of Father Milodrag 

• Construction of Institutions | The establishment of new offices to perform different aspects of administration, all of whom shall sit on a new City Council. 
• Support for Merchants & Craftsmen | The creation of a new city legislature, composed of the local guilds and other municipal organizations. 
• Recognition of Citizens’ Efforts | The foundation of various awards and honors to be presented to citizens who greatly contribute to the city. 
• Continued Activity & Prosperity | To continue Grand Maer Ricky Dicky's efforts to maintain New Valdev's activity by promoting regular events and festivities.
