A Twenty-First Name Day Celebration

My dear Brothers and Sisters in GOD. AS ONE VIROSI TAKES HER FLIGHT, ANOTHER FLEDGLING FOLLOWS IN SUIT. 

Since her arrival as only a young cygnet onto the coasts of Balian, Yelena Virosi has served the kingdom with enthusiasm. From her sudden appointment to Zelador, to a well accomplished socialite of the Balian court, the younger Virosi has experienced much growth. In truth, these sentences offer only but a meager acknowledgement to the amount of maturity the Virosi has experienced, and this upcoming year only serves as the culmination of this now-young woman's accomplishments. 

It is with great joy that the House Virosi announces a celebration for Lady Yelena’s twenty-first name-day. All Guests are implored to don attire befitting of the night sky: anything from blues, to silvers, and golds.

As is Virosi Tradition, the Name day is to commence with a Holy mass Hosted within the Balian Cathedral.

 

As the mass comes to a conclusion, the Flight Ceremony of the young virosi begins, the young Virosi having chosen her older sister as the figure to place the cornflower wreath upon on her head. Once done, a prayer is said upon the newly turned swan, and afterwards, she is to swear upon her house's virtues.

Following the Virosi’s Flight Ceremony, the attendees are beckoned towards the Royal Palace in which they are all given paper lanterns. Once all have been properly distributed, the guests may lift their lanterns upwards towards the skies, resembling the Virosi’s flight into adulthood!


It is after the lifting of the lanterns that the Virosi sisters join their rings, bespeckling the palace grounds in a gorgeous display of colors, thus starting the final event of the Name Day Celebration! A dance held in honor of the Virosi’s turning!

Lavanya let out a soft hum at the announcement as she read it within the confines of the hold. Her thoughts went to the first time she met the young woman, when she had appointed the girl Zelador. She nodded her head and placed the announcement aside, content with her decision back then.
