A prodigal young man laments his shortcomings. A tree aged a thousand years now beholds two frail leaves where all others had already fallen for the winter.

”I cannot fail.”

A familiar specter smiled at a stray page wedged into the snow-ridges of the northern hills, a fondness cast to his pupiless, unblinking gaze. After such a disrupted last meet; after endless waiting in one lonesome, snowy tower; after silence in his outreach, he was still glad to know of her wellbeing. And glad to see, too, that she might be freed from her constraints further.

His gaze dragged up to the walls of Kovgrad in distant, patient wait. Time, of course, was of little worth to him. Once Marus left, it was not a man that walked away; but instead, a transparent, white, misty crow that glided with the wind.

The dour Palatine looked upon the missive, releasing a heavy sigh. How life had battered her dear Rezalisa--she only hoped now that her lifelong friend would find true freedom and happiness beyond the borders of the Highlander realm. Her impact upon the legacy of House Kovachev would not be easily forgotten.

Upon reading the missive, Emika was overcome with nothing but melancholy. A letter was hastily penned to the dear ex-Baroness, wishing not to be forgotten amidst the solitude that fell over Kovgrad's walls. For a few moments, it seemed as if even the goats bleated in sorrow as this chapter was closed upon the quaint, cozy keep. Now, if any, would be a suitable time for Emika to finally indulge in the famous Kovgrad cider. "Please be well, Lady Rezalisa," she spoke with sorrow to the empty throne.

"What a brave woman." Ines Aine O'Hara silently expressed to herself and the four walls which kept her company while diligently writing and updating documents. Committing herself fully to the duties bestowed upon her as the Royal Scribe of Ravenmire. Throwing the copy of the announcement of abdication into the roaring flames of the fireplace to her right. Looking towards the ashes of the copied document then to the stainless and cracked mirror on her desk. "May she find happiness and peace in her new-found freedom."

A missive from House Kovachev is displayed across the Realm of the Raev.

It is on this publication that Rezalisa Kovachev shall be abdicating her title as Baroness of Kovgrad to her first-born son and heir, Varon Kovachev.  As he has reached the age of sixteen, he is now fitting for the role and capable of possessing the mantle.

Varon is young, but his soul is an adamant one and filled with much spirit.  May the reignited embers of Kovgrad be further fueled by his efforts, and may the memory of flame return to the name of Kovachev in this generation.

If I return to Haense, do a welfare check on me.  Never been so massively disappointed in a playerbase before to have people so adamant in defending a person who bashed me for mourning my deceased cousin, or for simply disregarding immoral comments and actions for the benefit of their pixel gains.

Spoiler

Release screenshots so we can smoke these cats out of their holes.

Spoiler

We've only interacted a handful of times, but my sincerest condolences. You deserve far better than to be bashed for your grief and I think you've made the right call stepping away from a community that was toxic to you for it.
