It is with great honor that I announce the council seat of Arch-Magus has been filled and the Office of Enchantment is actively searching for the finest minds and most skilled hands across the Kingdom of Balian and beyond to join its ranks. 

 

As our nation stands at the threshold of great promise under the reign of our most regal monarchs, we seek those who wield the forces of magic and alchemy to aid in shaping the future of our kingdom. The Office of Enchantment shall serve as a beacon of progress, a council of wisdom, and a forge of innovation, where the arcane arts will be applied to heal, protect, and empower our people.

Thus, we call upon:

• Mages of all varieties with mastery over evocations, alterations, or illusions.
• Alchemists skilled in the creation of potions, elixirs, and enhanced crafts.
• Healers, scholars, and those well versed in the study of non-mundane topics.
• Those who aspire to become mages or alchemists in order to aid the Crown.

The Office of Enchantment seeks not only knowledge but true innovation—new spells, new alchemical formulas, and new technologies to enrich the lives of our people. There will be great opportunities for collaboration, research, and development, with royal patronage and support for any who wish to push the boundaries of the magical and alchemical arts. WITHIN THE OFFICE OF ENCHANTMENT, THERE ARE THREE DISTINCT ROLES, EACH WITH THEIR OWN SET OF REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES. Those recently inducted into the collective who are still learning their particular affinity are known as the Scholars of the Enchanted. This rank has no set requirements other than a desire to learn and is primarily filled with newly established mages and alchemists, or those seeking to begin their studies in said fields under the guidance of the Arch-Magus. With the least amount of duties ascribed to them, most of their time is spent learning the intricacies of their chosen craft and assisting those of higher rank with research. 

 

Once one has continued down their selected path, they can then move up in rank. Court Mages are tasked with providing insight and advising the monarchs and Duana on any arcane or otherwise magical matters. The research conducted by them in various fields is pivotal in the innovative aspects of spell creation and theories. They also use their acquired wisdom in their given fields to assist the Arch-Magus in instructing the Scholars of the Enchanted and the Kingdom at large on the ethical practices of magic that fall in line with what has been approved by the Church of the Canon. To achieve this rank, one must be considered adept or higher in at least one form of magic.

 

For those more attuned to the alchemical sciences, Court Alchemists are tasked with wielding their profound knowledge to research and develop transformative insights and solutions that transcend the ordinary boundaries of science and nature. They also develop new potions and substances for use in both leisure and martial acts, which are provided to the Royal stock for use in whatever way the courts and Royals deem necessary, and will be properly compensated for their hard work and dedication. To achieve this rank, one must be considered at least a journeyman, or tier 2, alchemists.
